The Wembley trail continues tonight with a rearranged third round match at Deepdale against Preston North End.
Preston currently sit 15th in The Championship, a place I am sure we could all be happy with give the chance, and looking at their league form it looks like a draw specialist, so could end up all square tonight, and the dreaded penalty shoot out.
Our head to head record shows that in the previous 9 meetings, Preston have won 6 times, we've won once, and 2 have ended all square, Preston scored 16 goals and we scored 10 goals in these matches.
Team selection could prove interesting tonight with two tricky away fixtures coming up in the next 7 days against Rotherham and Bolton, no CATV tonight, so unless you have travelled to Lancashire or watching on one of these apparent "dodgy" streams, then it's down to audio and here I guess...

Here we go...

Team news..

Will Mannion and Gassan Ahadme return to the starting line-up as Nathan Jones makes two changes tonight.

Ashley Maynard-Brewer and Miles Leaburn move to the bench for the third-round tie. There is also a place on the bench from Zach Mitchell, who returns after a spell on the sidelines with injury.

It means the Addicks are expected to lineup in the same 3-5-2 used in recent weeks. Alex Mitchell, Lloyd Jones and Macaulay Gillesphey make up a back three in front of Mannion.

Thierry Small and Josh Edwards are expected to operate as wing-backs with Conor Coventry, Luke Berry and skipper Greg Docherty likely to play in a midfield three behind Ahadme and Tyreece Campbell.

Maynard-Brewer, Zach Mitchell and Leaburn are joined on the bench by birthday boy Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Karoy Anderson, Allan Campbell, Chuks Aneke, Matty Godden and Daniel Kanu.

Charlton: Mannion; A.Mitchell, Jones, Gillesphey; Small, Coventry, Berry, Docherty (c), Edwards; Ahadme, T.Campbell

Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Z.Mitchell, Edmonds-Green, Anderson, A.Campbell, Leaburn, Aneke, Godden, Kanu

Terry and Brownie, Audio via the CATV page

Supporters worldwide can enjoy live audio commentary of Tuesday's rescheduled Emirates FA Cup third-round tie against Preston North End at Deepdale (KO 7.45pm GMT).

FA broadcast rules dictate that the club is unable to live stream the cup clash, meaning audio commentary is the best way to follow all of the action on CharltonTV if you are not making the trip to Lancashire.

Former Addick Steve Brown will be joining CharltonTV stalwart Terry Smith on commentary duty.

Existing monthly and annual CharltonTV and CharltonTV LIVE (overseas) subscribers will have live audio commentary of the fixture covered as part of their subscriptions.

They've been sitting in the stand since Saturday, wondering where everyone was.

I don't think there's the depth in the commentary squad for rotation apart from Captain Marvel occasionally subbing for Brownie in Yorkshire.

I expect an unchanged commentary line-up despite the prospect of another match on Saturday.

Blimey, I feel for Terry trying to see what's happening in that light - the floodlights are worse than ours!

There is the danger of fatigue creeping in, and Terry's moans about the referee losing their energy after 70 minutes.

  • Hope that Mannion has just been given the "Cup Goalkeeper" role seeing he's not played for a while, would be harsh to simply drop Maynard-Brewer
  • Sadly no involvement for Patrick Bauer - Not overly surprised given his lack of appearances this season.

Taylor isn't rated enough to get on a bench of 9? Or he's off so not risking injury? Either way it's a poor call imo.
  • Leaburn on the bench…
    And Zach !

One striker Ahadme , Nathans had enough of the FA Cup It would appear.

Thank goodness 😀, but its not good for the fans who have travelled up to Preston.

Remember when 11 players were good enough for a few weeks or 4 games at least.

Ahadme is simply playing the Leaburn role. The problem is, he isn't Leaburn but this might be a good game for his confidence and we still have Leaburn to bring on.

Ahadme to run their defence ragged for 75 minutes (with no goals) then fresh legs Leaburn/Chucks come on to score the winner…

Jones not taking this one seriously then.

Bring the big guns on when we are 2 down with 15 to go.

Front 2 have 2 goals between them all season.

    Whoppeee.

It’s like at the beginning of the season when ahadme always started and we were always waiting for chuks to come on as we couldn’t score a goal
