Spanish Charlton Fan

Hello, my name is Carlos. I’m new in this forum. It’s fine to know about it, like any others Charlton forums in the net because I sent emails to the Club looking for Internationals Supoorters Fan Clubs but I never got an answer. I really like British football since I was a child, and years ago I was falling in love with Charlton Athletic, becoming my englis favourite team. These forums are a great oportunity for sharing my passion for english football, especially to Charlton Athletic which isn’t so mediatic in my country. I have met any others english Charlton fans in Costa Blanca (Alicante), very friendly people 👍, and I usually change messages with any Charlton Youtubers 👍 (for me It’s great way for getting images apart the Official club highlights), but no one in Madrid, my usual City, It would be fantastic to find other Charlton fan in Madrid.

    When did you first start falling in love with Charlton? I presume when we were in the Premier League as we would have been in the media and TV more often then?

    Have you managed to come over and see us live at The Valley at all? 

    Who's your Spanish team? (again I presume you have one!)

    I don't know if it is still there but there is a pub owned by Charlton fans in the Costa Blanca. It was a good few years ago so can't be sure but I think it might have been called The Rose and Crown,

    Any rumours of us picking up a Spanish player this January window? Possibly used to play for Espanyol in his younger days before moving to Madrid. Name of Carlos perhaps?

    All I can say to you Carlos is why?! Why put yourself through it? I can't stand Charlton and I've been supporting this club for decades. Admittedly I was forced into it by my dad, plus I was born and bred in south east London and had some good years throughout the 90s and early 2000s but since it has been, apart from the few anomalies, an absolute shit show.

    It's not far to London and The Valley from Madrid but maybe save the trip for Wembley in this year's play off final when we get there.

    Always amazes me that people pick Charlton to support - I had no choice, my late Dad made sure I was not going to support any other club than Charlton Athletic !!!

    Would I have it any other way - certainty not !!!

    I love CAFC - lots of mediocre shite, but when the high points come, they are orgasmic
