    Welcome to our forum

Always amazes me that people pick Charlton to support - I had no choice, my late Dad made sure I was not going to support any other club than Charlton Athletic !!!

Would I have it any other way - certainty not !!!

I love CAFC - lots of mediocre shite, but when the high points come, they are orgasmic
A mate of mine always says, "You don't choose your club, your club chooses you". That's certainly true of me, I don't feel there was ever a choice for me. I can't imagine choosing Charlton if I hadn't been channeled into it, but I'm jolly glad I was.

Anyway, welcome to Carlos, the latest chosen one.

Welcome Carlos, glad to have fans from other places joining our site!

3 questions for you, if you don't want to answer that's fine!

When did you first start falling in love with Charlton? I presume when we were in the Premier League as we would have been in the media and TV more often then?

Have you managed to come over and see us live at The Valley at all?

Who's your Spanish team? (again I presume you have one!)
    No problem for answering!

I knew Charlton since those premier days but It was getting my interest years later, curiosity in the worst years along the history as Charlton fans say. There are many reasons to follow Charlton for me, but most important is the link with community, with the Borough, not being mediatic (that’s Good for me). For me is a real “old school” english club, and by the way Charlton Borough in the same place that my Borough in Madrid if you take a map (Center, south, east) 👌.

About The Valley, I’ve never been there… at the moment ☺️.

And about my spanish team I’m Espanyol supporter. I’ve got membership card (socio, as we say in my country) Yes, I know it’s not at Madrid but I was falling that club when I was a kid and I stay always loyal to them 💪🏻💪🏻

    Welcome!

I actually do live in Madrid so you've found at least 2 Addicks here!

    Now....about that barrio... Vallecas?

Nah... I mean... when we got to Wembley for the playoff final in 2019, were you tempted to come over to London to watch it?

Ah ok, understanding now 😅. By these days I was starting my real interest in the Club so, It would have been still difficult. Anyway I’d like travelling any day to The Valley 👌. I usually don’t like big crowds but, who knows! A playoff at Wembley with Charlton would be a real special situation for checking! 👍👍

Hello, my name is Carlos. I’m new in this forum. It’s fine to know about it, like any others Charlton forums in the net because I sent emails to the Club looking for Internationals Supoorters Fan Clubs but I never got an answer. I really like British football since I was a child, and years ago I was falling in love with Charlton Athletic, becoming my englis favourite team. These forums are a great oportunity for sharing my passion for english football, especially to Charlton Athletic which isn’t so mediatic in my country. I have met any others english Charlton fans in Costa Blanca (Alicante), very friendly people 👍, and I usually change messages with any Charlton Youtubers 👍 (for me It’s great way for getting images apart the Official club highlights), but no one in Madrid, my usual City, It would be fantastic to find other Charlton fan in Madrid.

    Ok then. Keep in touch!
and as I always say, sorry for my possible grammar mistakes, I prommise to improve ☺️.

    Cheers from Madrid!! ☀️☀️
¡Hola Carlos! ¿Qué tal? Viví en Madrid durante un año.

Funny as I actually did meet one Charlton fan whilst out there in a pub called Triskel Tavern. Hopefully I'll be back soon!

    Welcome Carlos.

I have some good friends who recently moved from London back to Madrid - they're Atletico fans but adopted Charlton as their English team while they were here. They were both at Wembley in 2019 so left with good memories and plenty of CAFC shirts  :)

Bienvenido Carlos. I'm a Charlton fan living in Spain (Barcelona) so we share a country as well as a love of a poor league 1 football team. Hopefully you'll enjoy an upturn in form as we dive into the transfer market now, but in the meantime, welcome to Charlton Life.

Love to see this, welcome Carlos!

Made me wonder how many spanish players we've had, and according to transfermarkt it's a slightly surprising figure of only 4!

Top marks to anyone who can get them all
