David Lynch RIP

Sad, sad news just in. As a huge fan of everything he's done, I feel devastated. I rate his greatest work as Twin Peaks season 3 episode 8.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

A very influential director. Can’t say I was a fan of his films . A little too weird for my liking . RIP
  • Weird is something I can't get enough of, and David took weird to a whole new level. Everyone should watch Mulholland Drive at least once, ideally whilst enjoying half a bottle of whisky.

His films were a little weird but who wants to watch Avengers or the Hogwarts saga every week.

    RIP.

Yes, that episode and Inland Empire for me personally. I am a big fan, to the extent I have a Twin Peaks tattoo (red room floor & Dale).

He was truly one of a kind. It's nice (that's not the right word, maybe reassuring?) that he takes the secrets of Twin Peaks with him. What a bummer.

Terrible news. Such a great storyteller. And yes, I agree with the thread starter regarding episode 8.

Twin Peaks blew me away when I first saw it. Also loved the Elephant man and the Straight story. RIP.

Sad news. I read his Room to Dream book last year and would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in his movies. He was very highly regarded by those who he chose to be in his films.

I saw Mulholland Drive for the first time last year - remarkable film, powerful, mystifying, visceral.

Truly one of a kind - thanks for everything David.

Loved Eraserhead and the Elephant Man. Never watched any of his tv series; will have to find the time sometime. RIP.
  • The Straight Story. Going to watch it again on Amazon tonight.
  • The Owls are not what they seem.

A bit behind on Lynch. Watched Blue velvet years ago without knowing who was responsible,  loved it.
My daughter instructions, we are watching Mulholland Drive tonight.
Hope there's no plot cause I never understand them.
