Those stands where there's multi level of boxes, instead of fan seats are very ugly. One of the reasons I dislike going to Orient is we have to sit opposite that ugly stand of a few seats than floors of interior space.

I don't disagree. It wasn't a suggestion based on my own preference, just a realistic assessment of how a significant amount of hospitality space could be added without having to rebuild the stand. I think you could do something that looks much nicer that the Orient effort, but it would be a compromise. The far more expensive, but more aesthetic solution would be to remove the top tier, add in a second level of hospitality and then reconstruct a smaller top tier. It wouldn't look that much different to the current arrangement, but would offer significantly more hospitality space.

So like the away end at Villa, but with the larger tier at the bottom and the smaller above.

The lights are old so getting them working isn't as simple a a trip to B&Q to pick up a bulb.
The bulbs are extremely hard to get hold of. The components inside are also hard to get now BUT we had a lot more working lights today and will be doing some more work to the West Stand this coming week.

I also noticed as shown in the photo there were what looked like CCTV-like cameras, have these also been installed for goal-line technology? sure I never noticed these before.

Cynically it’s been actioned in recent weeks only because it’s in danger of not meeting league requirements.

If the work isn’t ‘hard’ then there should not be excessive cost for that should there? If you are indicating ‘parts’ are expensive then don’t the economics more point to changing the lights completely to current design / technology?

How long have the current owners deferred this was more my question - not the failures of those before.

Changing the floodlights to the new standard costs several hundred thousand pounds so, understandably, make do and mend” is preferred whilst we are where we are in L1.

but as time moves on the materials cost more and more to acquire or fabricate - and it takes longer.

there is no quick fix and the work is being done at “mates rates” already but suppliers love to extort when it’s a bespoke item

An acquaintance of mine who works for a lighting company who supplies floodlighting to a lot of football grounds.

But I think @valleynick66 has probably called it, in that it clearly won't be cheap like changing a bulb at home so it's about definition of what a lot of money is for a L1 club I guess.

Talking of lighting, I sit in the NWQ, the strip light in the stairwell hasnt been working for quite some time and when everyone leaves after the game its really dark down there, think it could only be a matter of time before someone stacks it. Im going to email the club later,got to be a health and safety issue surely?!
