A little unusual I know but I would like all you Wordle and Hardle people to please put yourselves as the masters of green and yellow and do the makings for the following:

The solution word is KEBAB

my guessing is the word AHEAD

Please state how many green and how many yellows.

🤣 I may be wrong but think I'm correct. If the solution word has 1 A in it and your guess has to A's in it you will only get one colour for that A. The other will be greyed out. BTW who's side was I on in the heated dispute?

The ALARM case would definitely have to result in 2 yellows when marked by Wordle (otherwise which one of them would be grayed)

I noticed there are a few versions of Hardle.
The one I play only lets you know how many yellows and how many greens without specifying their positions.

Then it becomes a question of your individual interpretation or even philosophy !!! (Blime I'm in danger of getting this thread shut down...)

The difference between marking AHEAD as 1 yellow (only for E) or 2 yellows (E and first A) lies in whether the marker (that little Nigel sitting in every square)
 Decides according to 'how many A are in the sulution' (Kebab) or rather - 'is every individual letter A is in the word Kebab, where by 1 is spot on, and the other has maybe jumped the gun, but as Lenin said: "ALL A's ARE As"
