You are quite correct. Also it doesn't help that the PA in the Covered End is so useless, so it's easily drowned out. Apparently it was made by the same people that made the floodlights and is operated by a wind-up handle. You can't get hold of the requisite spare parts to keep it running nowadays, so custom made components are fashioned from bits of old string.SteveACS said:

Even if he can't hear it, he knows it's being played. So, he must be beating the drum on purpose?
It's perfectly clear in the ACS. But it's partly drowned out by the Covered End singing something else, because the drummer is leading them in something else...

Not really it really isnt that big of a deal is it ? its just part and parcel of the game, if the club can make some decent cash off the back of it, great.
