Fanzone and away fans

might be a silly question, but are away fans allowed into the fanzone? I haven’t seen any segregation but away fans are normally directed straight to the JS stand.

Sign outside the FZ does say ‘Home fans only’ - but other than having club colours/tops clearly on show , I’d have no idea how you’d be able to tell

I've seen away fans in the Fanzone and there was no problems . Probably best not to wear colours if you want to be sure to get in.

I have never had a ticket checked when entering the fan zone

Been in a few times, never had my ticket checked. Unless you’re wearing away colours or are some sort of obvious northerner then I wouldn’t imagine anyone being stopped from going in.

I actually quite like the weird combination of sitting outdoors in the dead of winter, watching football on a (really decent) big screen and listening to early ‘00s garage music!

There were a few Stevenage fans in colours in the Fan Zone recently when we played them. It wasn’t a problem,..as it wasn’t an issue for them when we played at their ground earlier in the season when Charlton fans were in the Home bar before and after the game. It’s not that difficult to identify the ones that you might not want in there.

And in reverse, a group of Covered End "lads" wouldn't be welcome in fanzones at away games, whereas more discreet Charlton fans wouldn't attract any attention.

I believe there's a maximum limit of 3 visible stone island badges per fan allowed in the Fan Zone.

i actually have no problem with this as long as we choose which away fans - happily mix with the Oxford and Cambridge fans. Obviously Gillingham or Leyton Orient or any where outside the home counties should just be a blanket ban for obvious reasons.

Oxford and Cambridge both have their fair share of wanky supporters.
Only last season a Charlton coach had it's window broken after the game up there.

clearly being set up, probably gills fans. Oxford and Cambridge wouldn't do that

All jokes aside its probably best kept just for home fans, I'm sure the vast majority of fans from all clubs would be fine but all it takes is a handful of fans to act like idiots and then it becomes a much bigger incident than the security could probably handle especially with kids present.

Leyton Orient?

Definitely NOT Orient. The over crowded area where the pokey kiosk is located by the toilets, and selling beer poured from a can is no way to treat away fans, especially those that have been charged top dollar for the ticket. If that’s the way they think away fans should be treated then they can do one.

At those two grounds. Once again always went off at Cambridge every since that first game at The Abbey.

Yes, I would say some of the worst violence iv seen at any Charlton game was in the seventies at Cambridge. Low level policing on the day, left them unable to handle what was going on.
