And to be fair, there's still been too many poor balls. He's a lovely lad who has always suffered from a lack of confidence and numerous injuries. Despite some extraordinary bowling performances (including 3-1 and 19 dot balls in one of his spells in the Hundred) I do get the impression that he suffers a bit from "imposter syndrome".

I can see him going the way of someone like Shaun Tait and stick to T20s even if he does make the Ashes this year. His body isn't going to take many more years at Test level and he's not got that great a record in ODIs with 80 wickets in 70 matches at 40.82.

Match abandoned meaning that Australia could become ICC Champion Trophy winners by winning just three matches. That really is ridiculous and undermines the status of the competition. Either have reserve days or change the format - all teams playing each other and then the top four playing a knock out type arrangement as in the Big Bash would mean 32 games instead of the current 15. However, the group matches could run concurrently meaning the whole competition could be over in a month which is barely longer than the current format.
For what it's worth, England win the toss and elect to bat. Saqib comes in for the injured Wood so, despite it being a dead rubber, no place for Rehan - he must be the best drinks carrier in the world.

Salt just hasn't seemed to develop as a player. Feels like he's still doing the same thing he did as a young player at Sussex where he only knows to go hard regardless of the situation.
Needs to go back to Lancs and spend time developing his technique.

Brook has a Brook innings. Plays some unbelievable shots at time but you just know that his wicket is just around the corner. Out for 19 (29)
