Charlton looked to progress up the table with a game in hand on opponents today, Leyton Orient, who sat one place above us in the table before kickoff. Charlton bossed the first half but, for all of the huffing and puffing, they couldn’t find a way through. Luke Berry had the best chance when former-Addick Darren Pratley’s defensive header glanced off the crossbar and back into play. Berry followed up with a header that went straight down into the keeper’s feet. There were other opportunities but the deadlock wasn’t broken until the second half.
Leyton Orient came out of the blocks hot in the second, scoring only about four minutes in with an unbelievable strike from thirty plus yards that left Will Mannion no chance. Charlton were looking off the pace and quite rattled as Orient opened up and piled pressure on. Nothing seemed to fall the Addick’s way, including another stop from their keeper on the line. At one point we thought a goal was given but, instead, it was a free kick against the Addicks.
The Addicks left this one late but the change in fortune was dramatic. A whole host of changes designed to look for the equaliser paid off when sub Alex Gilbert’s set piece found Macauley Gilsphey at the back post with a header that beat the flapping keeper, two minutes into added on time. Exasperated by the missed opportunities, the equaliser brought Charlton some much needed impetus to go on and find the winner. Unbelievably, the winner came when Kayne Ramsay put his head to another Alex Gilbert corner. Matty Godden stood firm in front of Keeley, the Orient keeper who once again found himself beaten from a set piece routine. Ramsay hadn’t had the best afternoon but his winner will prove crucial to keeping Charlton’s hopes of staying in play-off contention alive. Charlton up to sixth.
Much needed relief to what, until the very end, was likely to be a frustrating afternoon. Up the Addicks!

Over to you.

Thats right everyone... Altogether now... ORIENT... YOU'VE BEEN SUNK!!!!!
such a shame it’s not the Minto and Curbs Charlton TV. Would happily soak another hour of that up post match.
What can I say.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees fucking have that.
What a fantastic result. Well deserved as well.
I remember feeling sick watching the majority of the 2019 Final against Sunderland - I didnt really enjoy the game today (It was a great match between two honest teams that went for it to be fair), what with so much riding on it, so if we can finish second I'd would be so relieving!!
Massive momentum building with that result.
Pratley by name, Prat by nature.
Anyway apologies to my dog who I woke up with a cheer as that Ramsey header hit the net.
I suppose that doesn’t happen to this team though
