Don't give Charlton ideas.killerandflash said:Weird that he doesn't have a club, anywhere. If he wants to keep playing for Jamaica he'll need to play somewhere.0 -
Which one was that? He became very error prone, would have a decent game then switch off and make an error resulting in a goal conceded.Kap10 said:He was solid for us, until he made one calamitous mistake that led to a goal.2 -
95% of the time he was a class above anything else on the field. I like watching people who are obviously really, really good at football play for Charlton. Some NAYSAYERS like @Chunes care more about the 5% when he wouldn't cut out a cross or jump for a header or something, but hey, ignore the artistic side of football completely why don't you. Oh 'results' oh cool yeah. Results. Wait,18

Signed for Dagenham until the end of the season. They’re 19th in the NL.

Fulham > Charlton > Dagenham... Prioritising staying in London?6

Yes I think when he signed for us being in London was an important thing for him for personal reasons.ForeverAddickted said:Fulham > Charlton > Dagenham... Prioritising staying in London?4 -
Found his level and he'll still make calamitous errors.3

Petty petty man1

Thought he could do better than that, but I guess if he doesn't want to leave London that restricts his options1

“I think we should keep him, would make a good squad player”11

Exactly why he and Thomas were given an extended run in the team at the end of last season so NJ could be left in no doubt whatsoever that both wouldn’t be good enough for a promotion push this season.superclive98 said:Found his level and he'll still make calamitous errors.4 -
He's 32 and has dropped out of "League football" for the first time in 15 years.superclive98 said:Found his level and he'll still make calamitous errors.
Since that time, when he played at various levels whilst on loan from Reading, he has played c. 170 games in the championship, 22 games in the Bundesliga, 4 games in the Premier League, 67 games in League 1 and about 55 games in League 2.
But at 32 he's played 1 game in the National League and he's "found his level"....8 -
As I said above, the level of much of his game is Championship at least. But he doesn't have the legs or perhaps the will for that. I suppose your level is only as good as your weakest primary attribute2
-
I think he played the whole game yesterday. He's likely found a club in time to represent Jamaica again later this month.0
-
Derek Hales now plays walking football. He’s found his level.8

He’d have looked better in this setup , like all of the defenders and keepers do1
-
True to an extent, but a big weakness was that he doesn’t have that real aggression and desire to defend, one of the reasons we’re so much better defensively. He always seemed quite happy just doing enough, same with players like Gunter, Matthews, Ben Watson etc in the past.wmcf123 said:He’d have looked better in this setup , like all of the defenders and keepers do
They’re all different players, but every defender we’ve signed under Jones has that.11 -
Enjoyed the comments on Charlton Live about his recent move.
How many goal-gifting clangers have our CBs dropped this season... One? None?

Absolutely hilarious. If you don't laugh you'll cry. That's how bad our recruitment has been over the course of 10 years or so, one of our main choice centre backs recently is now managed by AngryGinge 😂5 -
What even is Baller League? I've just scrolled through their twitter and I still have no idea.Braziliance said:https://x.com/GingeUpdates/status/1899180874316312779?t=3cStJcBtshwPN8SXl_m4TA&s=19

And shows how bad our recruitment of managers has been that he isn’t even the worst manager Hector has played under in recent yearsBraziliance said:https://x.com/GingeUpdates/status/1899180874316312779?t=3cStJcBtshwPN8SXl_m4TA&s=19

Tareiq Holmes-Dennis and Marvin Sordell apparently both got drafted as well.Braziliance said:https://x.com/GingeUpdates/status/1899180874316312779?t=3cStJcBtshwPN8SXl_m4TA&s=19

Hector is a really weird player. It seems like he's a poster boy for the limited distance talent can take you if you just don't feel like putting the work in. Chelsea obviously saw something in him as a bit of a late bloomer but he never delivered on that promise and then seemed happy enough to be shunted about wherever. I think he's just not that bothered anymore and I don't think he was really that bothered to begin with. There are players with half his ability playing well above his level because they are willing to work and throw themselves into the game but I'm sure he's happy enough with what he's got out of it.5

Six a side apparently.
My son was home last night and for three hours we had it on our TV with it being on Sky until the Hammers, Newcastle game and then he put the 'draft' on his lap top and its his media job to follow all things football but that rubbish amateur production made the infamous Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood presentations at the Brit awards look professional.
A total shambles from start to finish where players were picked more than once and at the end 'Angry Ginge' no idea who he is, said "put your hand up if you want to play for my team" only a dozen player or so left by this point and he picked the first hand that went up.
The games gone but £400 a match for ex journey men pros and current Semi pros to play and much more money for the likes of Figo, John Terry, Shearer and Gary Lineker to boost their on line profile with the 8 to 24 demographic made for this car crash of a draft.

A player who has had a career of over 400 professional games...but yep, everything you think is probably right - he couldn't be bothered from the start....Garrymanilow said:Hector is a really weird player. The good thing is that isn't what I said, but you know that. Hector is extremely comfortable on the ball, he is often calm and assured defensively, he's a big unit, fairly quick and a surprisingly good creative passer. Chelsea picked him up because they could see that the talent and potential was there but they couldn't unlock it to their level. No-one could, that's the point. Hector with his talents could have been more than he ultimately was. He could have played more than 4 Premier League games, he could have been playing at a higher level than League One aged 30 and higher than National League aged 32. He's always had comments about his relaxed attitude and we saw the lack of determination ourselves at times. He could have been moreSporadicAddick said:

Reminds me of Johnny Williams - another player who has the ability to play much higher than where he is, but seems like he lost that extra desire you need at the higher levels.Garrymanilow said:Hector is a really weird player. At least with those two THD retired through injury, and Sordell has always been shit. Hector was playing for us just last season ffs 😂DyerConsequences said:
