  • Of course they are allowed to have their opinions but that doesn't mean they can't have their opinions ridiculed or derided for the deliberate obtuseness they often display which is more irritating than the few who are actually just thick and unable to understand data or science ?

I often disagree with @ME14addick but she hasn't called for their arrest or harm (to the best of my knowledge). I always find it incredibly amusing when twerps with odious idiotic views share the "EnTItlED tO ThEIR OpINIonS" as if somehow they are free of the societal judgment consequences for their actions.
I'd bet that none of those liking Major's post have read any of the links I posted.
  • They dont need too. They are insulted and feel sick by the comparison.

Who decides what is an odious idiotic view, is it the odious idiotic responder who thinks their view is far superior.

We have a day to reflect on the loss of loved ones to a virus, and for people to come together to remember, as was witnessed in ceremonies across the country. Most poignantly by the casting of flowers into the Thames

We have another day when people reflect and remember those lost to wars, with ceremonies across the country.

Both days give an opportunity to remember loved ones, nothing sick about that.

When you have an opinion that others disagree with and those others provide evidence as to why the belief is wrong, it doesn't help your case and you cannot be surprised when your opinions are ridiculed.

The conspiracy theorists never provide scientific proof of their ideas.

  • Your last sentence is not true. I respected the Covid issue and took the necessary steps as advised. One section of our society rarely followed the rules and got away with it but thats another story, as we all know why.

Lots of those who apposed and had offered different views were proved right. Look at that Dr Fauci or what ever is name was has been ridiculed as was the WHO.

Some people think they have the gold star of views and dismiss anyone else as some conspiracy nut jobs.
I know it's an anathema to you to read the Guardian, but read the link I posted this morning which explains the poor treatment of Dr Fauci & the WHO.

The WHO did get some things wrong in the early days, but have corrected them now.

    All day long.

I'm loath to become embroiled in your Covid crusade, but that last sentence is unequivocal nonsense.
There proved to be ample scientific proof that Covid was not a Killer Virus, despite the relentless, fear-mongering inculcation of the Government; MSM; NHS; Big Pharma et al.

Those 'Conspiracy Theorists' who were sceptical of a 'vaccine' that bypassed the usual clinical trial protocol demanded of vaccine manufacture among many other concerns, and dry retched at the ludicrous shibboleth, At the Speed of Science, and were right to be sceptical when 'The Science' had no other choice than to shamefacedly admit that the vaccine prevented neither contagion nor transmission, not to mention the fatalities and life-debilitating illnesses suffered by those who believed it  their civil duty to be vaccinated.
I could go on, there are numerous other scientifically proven examples where the 'CP's were vindicated in their standpoint, but I appreciate there's little point in doing so.

But back to that last sentence:

Despite the vaccines' proven inefficacy, it was still being championed as having saved millions of lives. There is NO empirical scientific evidence to support this claim, NONE. It is a wholly unquantifiable assertion; scientifically, morally or philosophically.

    Unless...

You resort to Modelling: the first and last refuge of the desperate counterfeiter.
You've given not a single iota of proof that the COVID vaccines weren't effective.

Would you care to do so, in order to support your conspiracy theory? Or are you unable to do so, thereby encouraging more ridicule?
  • Who decides what is an odious idiotic view, is it the odious idiotic responder who thinks their view is far superior.
If one wishes too it can be, after all everyone  is entitled to their opinion ? You may think my opinion is idiotic, of course I wouldn't care if you did but thats up to you.
  • With you all the way ME14. Dad died of various issues, one of which was covid. I've had it twice and although at the time it felt no worse than a bad cold, I wonder if I am suffering long term effects.

  • Following on from last week's 'Covid Day of reflection', yesterday was designated 'Long Covid Awareness Day' all over the world. The following video put out by respected GP Dr Amir Khan, sheds some light on the myths of Long Covid. The last GP survey found that over 3 million people in the UK said they were suffering from Long Covid to varying degrees, from being mildly affected to being unable to have a normal life.

    🚨 Mythbusting #LongCovid with Dr Amir Khan🚨

Long Covid is real. It’s serious. And it’s affecting millions.

On #LongCovidAwarenessDay, @DrAmirKhanGP joins us to bust harmful myths.

It's also very clear from the following graph, that the massive increase in people claiming sickness/disability benefit started in 2020 with a much bigger increase from 2022 when mass infection occurred after 'Freedom Day'. This graph shows figures up to the end of March 2024.

Going through my 4th bout of covid, symptoms wise, it's the 2nd worse one, after my initial Delta strain infection, in November 2021. Current bout started with that hideous sore throat and non stop sneezing. Fatigue and weariness off the scale. Non stop hacking and phlegm, a raging furnace of a temperature, sweating like a mutant, ended up being like I was trying to sleep in a swimming pool. Plus the ocular migraines and sensitivity to light and screens, that non stop medium level nagging tension headache. Plus insomnia, like it's built in, 2 hours sleep in the last 48 plus hours. Whereas, with the delta strain, I slept like 12 hours a day or more.

With the AZ vaccine I Yellow carded: fecal impaction, I didn't/ couldn't have a shit for 10 days, and deafness, I suffered noticeable hearing loss in my left ear, within 24 hours of the first AZ jab.  I now wear hearing aids, have a loss of -75 decibels in both ears, but did qualify for a free concessionary disabled  bus pass.

I think without having had the AZ vaccine, Delta would have killed me, I had a fever of 105 f, across a few days, but refused to go to hospital and told my wife If i die, I die in my own bed , not a hospital bed, I lost 12 IB in weight in 3 days.

  • Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad @andipandi I hope you feel better soon.
