Perhaps Scott was told to go and take his rubbish with him.

Not seen again then loaned to Cambridge next year with us paying some of the wages is my bet.

The way he's been dumped from the squad makes me think he wasn't Jones' signing and it signalled the end of Scott...
All signings in and out are down to Jones

Is that a fact , or opinion Ronne?

Unless you're inside his head , how can you know?

Bit of a myth that Ahadme was our marquee signing. Rumoured to be the most expensive but I think Berry and Docherty came in with bigger reputations and higher expectations. Arguably Godden too. Still been a proper damp squib of a season for him though.
He'll not be with us next season.
Another contract ripped up then ?
Certainly could mean losing a lot more money.

Maybe we can do what Duchâtelet would have done and sell him for a pound but keep his house and insist it's worth millions more than it is.

I can't imagine this was a case of the board forcing the manager to sign a player, especially when it's a significant investment. There's been zero evidence that this is the case.

Nathan Jones isn't the type of manager who'd put up with that sort of interference, but people seem intent on making Andy Scott some sort of pantomime villain. Ahadme is Jones' signing and he's a poor one, it happens and we move on.

Just like when everything that was bad was Ged Roddy’s fault, and poor old Tommy Boy was blissfully unaware and innocent

Gassan is serving a very important purpose at the moment: we've won 12 of our last 18, only lost 2 and have conceded 1 goal in our last 5 games. There's very little to complain about but it has to go somewhere. Step forward Gas: hasn't played in weeks, might be injured we're not sure, but his thread can absorb all the natural angst that Charlton fans have built up over the past few traumatic years. When all the negativity is being directed at a player who hasn't appeared in weeks you know things are going well

Not as much pain as the fans feel when watching him play!

I don’t believe it was as black and white as that. Scott must’ve been doing something last summer to earn his wage. I can’t believe Jones was doing all the scouting, watching videos why Scott was sat next door twiddling his thumbs. Ahadme strikes me as a player that would be championed by Scott. Jones might’ve of agreed to the signing but once he’d see him play decided Scott was an idiot, not to be trusted and campaigned to get rid, which happened.

Only if we pay him off or someone is willing to take him on - I doubt there will be much appetite for either.

I think he probably was a NJ signing because he fits the profile - physical and good at pressing, same reason he likes Karoy. But he showed he's not that dominant in the air and more wiry than strong, and our going long to him wasn't working. The fact he now seems to be bottom of the pecking order, below Hylton, is an interesting arc to his story. He's either set to rise like a phoenix next season or to be sent lower down the league.

Whichever way I can’t see Gas being at The Valley next season. Doubt we’ll be able to sell him so it’ll be a loan.

Just a bad signing, it happens.

We can move on and hope the rest of his career shows improvement (just not against us).

A few months ago I read posts saying that Nathan Jones was a worse manager than Karel Fraeye. Turns out he isn’t. Now I’m hearing that Ahadme is a League 2 player, but he was signed for a reason and maybe we’ll get to see that working at some point.

I’m not writing him off yet. I agree with Clem above.

TBF to him, the majority of his appearances came in a team playing hoofball and struggling to create chances. Punting the ball aimlessly forward was hardly playing to his strengths.

He has shown in flashes that he has something about him and he has never deserved the pelters he was getting. Always put in a shift and didn't hide.

Would be interested to see how he gets on in a team that is now creating chances and playing with some confidence. Honestly think he would be a better last 15/20 minute option than Chuks at the moment.
We'll probably find out in the play offs when we have to pair him & Aneke because Godden & Leaburn are injured and Kanu is suspended !

Even in those dire circumstances Hylton would still get in ahead of Ahadme!

Gas with the equaliser and Chuks with a 95th minute winner.
  • Ahadme will be out on loan next year whatever division we are in, he is now behind a 36 year old we released last month in the pecking order. There's no coming back from that.

Just have to hope a club like Burton or Cambridge where he has done well at before come in for him at the end of the season.

Bizarre he can't even make the bench.

If he is fully fit then NJ has written him off.

However, this time last season we were saying similar stuff about Lloyd Jones who seemed to be completely out of favour and out of the squad. Yet in fact it turned out he was carrying an injury so NJ was deliberately resting him. We’ve reaped the rewards of that this season and some.

Pure speculation on my part but could the same be happening with Gas? Though not quite sure I’m going as far as suggesting he could be next season’s POTY.

I take it he is not fit,  he may have an underlying skeletal muscular issue. Which may explain why he has played so few games for the many clubs he has been at.

Keep reading on here that he's good for pressing but I don't think I've ever seen any evidence of that. Runs like he's stuck in treacle
