I doubt Appleton negotiated the commercials of his transfer.
I believe he was too busy working on his guns for  it to be possible for him to do anything else

On 9 yellow cards now, when is the cut off? From a quick google I’ve seen 32 games (which would be great) and 37 games (we’d be fucked) both quoted. With the run of games we have coming up, Coventry missing 2 of them could cost us play offs

    I'm pretty sure it's 37th unfortunately

Just downloaded the FA players handbook and it's 37. I think he's actually slightly at risk of hitting that 15 mark too which would be a huge loss

If he had to miss 5 games I think that would end our promotion hopes. Hopefully he can last till Stockport, miss Crawley and Wigan and then stay below 15 for the rest of the season

My worry is he gets that 15th in the last game of the season and misses the play offs

I made a comment that I thought he had been playing within himself in recent games, and I was not sure if that was in my mind due to the yellow card 'issue'.

Decided to have a look at some stats to see how he had been performing and though not necessarily surprised was shocked to see how high he was in all defensive metrics - especially tackles. I know he reads the game well, so was not shocked at his interceptions, but considering he seems to go about his work so unassumingly and its not like we are being dominated game by game - his tackle stats were 2nd in the league!

1 game to go now for him before the yellows get refreshed. He hauled someone back on the break in the first 10 minutes yesterday which thankfully the ref let go

Amazing that he's been putting in such consistent performances despite essentially being 'on a yellow' for such a long time

Ignore me sorry. Came by for the news on page 31 but there is no 31. The England call up was on page 21. My fault for letting the thread title shape my expectations. So sorry.

He's very good at putting his foot in. He's also very good at reading the game and benefiting from the work our other midfielders put in. Docherty doesn't win as many tackles but if you watch the two of them there are a number of easy tackles Coventry wins because the player has had to push past Docherty, who knows he isn't going to win the tackle, and has been funneled into the space Coventry is occupying. He then pinches it off the player when he doesn't have it fully under control. There's really good communication and reciprocal positioning done by our team, it's a very Nathan Jones thing

That's an absurd tackle success rate from Kayne Ramsay.

Indeed. Those stats clearly prove he’s a marginally better defender than Jaiyesimi….

Very surprising that DJ has such good defensive stats.

Honestly, fair play to him if he's added that side to his game then credit to him for that, as it seems to be working pretty well.

Actually thought some of his better games for us were at wingback where he focused more on the defensive side of things.

Can someone see into the future.  Thread title says called up as sub v England page 31 and we are only on page 26!?

He has only played 12% of minutes this season for Orient, so assume maybe its a statistical anomaly - rather then him being comparable to Coventry.

The 0-0 game at home to Sunderland springs to mind. He was outstanding that day. I don't think he missed a tackle the whole game.

No, it's a typo that it took people 4 months to notice 🤷‍♀️

Bit of a shame for him personally but "big picture" hopefully it gives him a chance to maybe have a bit of a rest at some point.

He's got an absolutely terrific engine on him but even he must be starting to flag a little bit with how much he does every game.

So if we are going to get the Posh game put back, Anderson, Dixon and Kanu need to be called up or am I missing someone?

Just seen Will Smallbone is injured , Conor could still get a late callup in that case.

Don't understand how he hasn't been called up for a poor Ireland squad....he's been outstanding for us this year

Same way Henderson is called up ahead of Gallagher, sometimes managers just go another direction

Don't question it, just be grateful it contributes to the game going ahead!
