Keep reading on here that he's good for pressing but I don't think I've ever seen any evidence of that. Runs like he's stuck in treacle
    he does that.

Same with all our players lets give him a bit of time.

This year we've had Jones out, gillespie rubbish, Berry just here cos his mates with Jones, Doc suspect.

Right, but for every player that has turned out to be decent when we thought they were bad we’ve had 10 that actually are rubbish.

Who do you suggest dropping to give Ahadme time?

He is a cup specialist. Keep him wrapped in cotton wool until the end of the year and the 1st round of the FA Cup.

Saw a photo on Facebook of him warming up with Watson before the Crawley game. Doesn’t suggest he’s unavailable.

he’s been travelling to loads of the away games as the “spare man”, it’s not been hidden by the club either as he’s often in the videos of the players arriving at the ground. Jones just clearly doesn’t rate him or he’s not performing in training

He was pretty good in the early season when he was starting every week. The Bolton game definitely

Again it’s tough on him though, as we are judging him on a period the team was worse. The team is much better at pressing now than it was then, and pressing does require the whole team and the right set up for it to work

I do think this pre-season will be make or break for him with us. Most likely outcome he leaves in August, probably on loan, and hopefully does well enough for us to recoup some of his fee next year

If he is travelling to the matches as the spare man, it must be demoralising to see the part-time coach in Hylton get a place in the squad before you

They all kept playing though, suggesting the manager had faith they'd come good.

So he was ill, will be interesting to see if he makes the bench in the next few games. I don’t think there’s a guaranteed spot for Chuks/Hylton, that’s probably his best chance of getting there.

I think he's still got a part to play. Will definitely be fresh for the run in.

Cult hero status up for grabs for the likes of him or Hylton if they scored the goal that got us promoted.

Or he does a Darwin Nunez and missed a penalty in the shootout...

They each get a hattrick in Burton game as we move above Wycombe on goal difference to confirm 2nd place.

I really hope not .  We will have to have had a lot of injuries .

Why? Hylton is already getting on bench without other injuries. There's a space or two on the bench for Aneke/Ahadme/Hylton.

It's all set up for him to miss a penalty in the play off final isn't it

Aneke probably played his weeks worth of minutes coming on so early against Stockport, so makes sense he was rested

You have to remember that gas would be fasting at the moment too.

Can picture it now. It's 1-1 in the 92nd minute in the playoff final against Wrexham. Godden goes down injured and the big gassman is stripping off and ready to make himself a hero. The ball goes out for a corner and this is the last chance of the game. It gets whipped in, gass out jumps everyone else and makes a sweet connection off the top of his bonce. The ball finds the top corner with Mannion left rooted to the spot and the Wrexham fans are in dreamland while the Charlton fans are realising that they'll be spending another year in a pub league.

Fair point ! Although if we’ve had a lot of injuries and end up with those two up front, we won’t be going up.

Glad he's back in the squad. I hope he gets some game time and, more importantly, I hope he impresses if he does.
