Didn’t we also get BWP very cheaply as Plymouth were struggling financially?
I hope they get a proper owner soon but we shouldn’t avoid signing good players from them if they’re available in January. Not saying we should put in lowball offers but I don’t see an issue with a fair offer.

And so, we got John Humphrey for only £60,000 when even then he was worth about £250,000. I couldn't believe it when we signed him, as he was already good enough for the First Division. At that point, I knew we were properly serious about promotion.10 -
I hope they get out of the mess and find a good owner soon, but if they have players who would strengthen our team and are available and willing to sign for us then i have no issue with it.Valley11 said:

Sadly there can’t be any sympathy in this. They will go somewhere for a reduced fee, if the players are good enough it makes sense4

I don’t want to see any club, well almost any club struggling with their very future. We’ve experienced it and it’s effing awful. For whatever reasons and no doubt they are complex, Reading find themselves needing to raise money. They have assets that can be sold and inevitably, unless there’s a new buyer very soon they’ll have to cash in some chips. It’s sad but it’s just how it is. It’s not predatory to look at who is available if Reading are making them available out of need.0

Relatively speaking, isn’t this what happens virtually every time a bigger club catches the eye of a player from a smaller club? Knowing the smaller club is (usually) on the bones of their arse, the bigger club puts in a low speculative offer.Valley11 said:

Hypothetically if they did get kicked out of the EFL before the end of the season, wouldnt we lose the point that we got against them, for the 0-0 draw at the Valley, as all their results would be null & void - Wrexham would lose 3-pts / Wycombe would lose 1-pt / Stockport would lose 6-pts for context
Not that its a situation that I could see happen though.

We have some dick heads too mate who travel there. This season a good lot of them were escorted around the stadium as they wanted aggro. Most were young pricks to be fair. Following its disclosure in open court earlier today, the League can confirm that Mr Yongge has been recently disqualified under the EFL’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test.
The disqualification requires Mr Yongge to divest his interests in the Club, and in the event that he fails to do so within the agreed timeframe, the League will consider all options available within its regulations to bring the matter to a conclusion.
The League continues to work closely with Reading FC to progress a sale of the Club at the earliest opportunity, in order to end the current uncertainty surrounding its future for its staff, supporters and wider community.

Then again it's madness he was even passed by the EFL in the first place, given that the PL rejected him from buying Hull a few years ago.
