England U21 matches at The Valley.

Been a very long time since we hosted one, there seem to be a lot of stadiums similar to ours getting them but never The Valley.

I get the feeling there are certain issues with the stadium such as lighting and media facilities, is that correct?

Main problem could be accommodating away fans in home areas???

I think it’s because we are based in London. England men’s have probably played 11matches at different grounds to Wembley since 2016 and none have been in London. Apparently, England v Andorra will be at Villa Park in September.

It would be difficult to explain England are on the road and then end up playing inside the M25. Strongly assume the same for the U21s

Roland is probably looking in to it. After all, it would be a useful bit of income for him.

Am surprised we've not hosted the U21s, their last few home games have been at West Brom,Bristol City, Bournemouth,Luton , Nottingham Forest and Bolton.

Maybe it is about taking them around the country but surely we'd be a contender?

I remember going to England under 20's v Russia under 20's years ago at the Valley. Think Lloyd Sam played from memory.

I think a big factor is you need to do a certain degree of schmoozing with the FA in order to get them to host a game with you. There's a lot more to it then just having a nice ground and being willing.

Agree it would be great to have an u21 game though. I went to a rare London based u21 game a couple of years ago, v Croatia. Lost 2-1 and the crowd was a bit crap too, only a shade over 5,000 there.

There not going to do that many U21 games in London, geography has a lot to do with it

    White Hart Lane - 2005

    Craven Cottage - 2023

    What Lloyd Samskikov?

Have faint recollections of that one.

...not league, but also a 3 at Wembley in 2007, 08, and 09. I was at the one in 08, around 27k at Wembley for it.
