The Ahadme redemption begins on Saturday
  • The Ahadme redemption begins on Saturday
To quote Malcolm Tucker "with a lot more tunnelling through sh*t and no F**king redemption"

We got promoted with Parker who did contribute when it mattered.
Parker was a much better player than Ahadme and what Chuks is now .  He was also playing in a much more fluid outfit .
Yes but in our situation where we need someone on the bench who can come on and do something I would rather one of our youngsters than Chucks. They would at least have the incentive of proving themselves so we know they will give 100%
Agreed - I would be giving Dixon and Casey a go ahead of both of them.
I've been advocating having Dixon on the bench for the past month or two. Just gives us something different. And he's quick & can finish.
I can’t see Jones going for that. Whenever we’ve needed a goal this season we’ve gone very direct and it’s usually worked. He will want Aneke and Ahadme on the bench over Dixon,  who let’s be honest is still probably not ready

I would have liked him to have gone on a National League loan just to toughen him up get him used to playing in front of fans and get him playing mens football.
  • That's great @Milan bet Miles was happy someone put their hand up otherwise that would've been awkward ha!

Miles went to my son's school today, and they asked the kids in assembly "does anyone know the Leaburn song"? A single hand goes up (my son's), so they forced him to sing the "Leeeeeaaaaabuuuuurrrrrn" chant to the whole school. He at least got a handshake and a chat with him in return, and I'm sure he'll get over the embarrassment of doing a crowd chant on his tod.
But the answer we all want to know is......

How long is he out for & will he be back this season !

How old is he and what school does he go to , if it’s a school in Milan I accept just one Charlton fan in it but anywhere else around the south of England it’s not good enough !!
  • Our recent purple patch pretty much coincided with the return of Miles to the Squad. Let's hope his loss doesn't scupper us.

We went to pieces without Jones also.

The return of Jones and Ramsay has been the main reason for our turnaround, along with the change of shape with Small on the right
This is perhaps the weakness/issue with the NJ method - when everyone is fit and available it works really well but one or two key people being injured or out of form at once has an exponentially worse effect.

It needs everyone to be good all the time every time which is means we need to be lucky all season. Its good that we don't rely on a CBT or JSR type to bail us out with individual glory but if "the team" doesn't work sometimes you do need someone to grab a game by the scruff of the neck (like Johnnie Jackson often did) and just make it happen.

Is Micah Mbick still at the club?

Could he play a part in our run in?
Injured and has been out for a long time. Would be Casey or Dixon most likely to step up if we got two more injuries
Well, if Hylton scores, I’m on the pitch!
Didn't see you when he did!

Eltham C of E in Eltham.... kind of alarming to consider how few kids in the area are interested in Charlton, doesn't bode well for future attendances.
  • Jones has confirmed that Miles wont be available this weekend.
  • If we can get him back fully fit for the play offs that would be ideal. Hopefully have him in the squad for the last few games of the season so he’s ready to go for the semis

  • Makes sense we’ve offered him a new deal.  At this stage, I think I’d rather keep TC and Small
  • Depending on how bad the injury actually is,  whether we are in league one or the championship next year, who we sign etc,  we might have seen the last of Miles playing for Charlton, unfortunately. If he is out until December, we are in the championship,  I am not sure how much Jones will look to play a young forward coming off his 3rd major injury.  If we are in league one and he is back early fall,  he could still play a role. Given he hasn’t signed yet,  I have a strange feeling,  he may be considering a fresh start somewhere else
  • I said it a few weeks ago & I really dont want this to happen......but if something happens to Godden over the next 4 weeks we could be going into the play offs with Ahadme, Aneke & Hylton 🙄.

He’ll be back for pre-season. Next year is a big one for him and getting a full pre-season in should help a lot
  • Wonder if we will sign Afobe

Is Kanu ruled out for season?

With his recent injury record I can’t see anyone paying money for Leaburn this summer. His best bet will now be to sign the new contract and make sure there’s an escape clause or two in there should he recapture his peak form or if we don’t get promoted.
I was saying this soon after the latest injury. I even implied should we offer him a contract. Three serious injuries in a season. We have know idea will he come back any where near the play his was, just over year ago or even two months ago.
As you see with Chucks repeated injuries takes a toll on the body.

NJ said he hopes Kanu will be back but he’s got a protective boot on so I’d say touch and go

Every injury is lowering his transfer fee, but also what other clubs are prepared to pay him in terms of wages. I can see them waiting until January to see if he is over these problems and has had a decent run of games.
