  • No one player is bigger than the club. Tell him to sign up or drop him.

    😉
  • I believe his agent is his step dad and that hopefully he will sign a new contract
We don’t want his step dad signing for us!
  • A 60% chance he will stay if we go up. A 5% chance he will stay if we don't.
I think there are 5 or 6 players we risk losing if we don't get promoted.
The difference is that everyone else is under contract, whereas Small can choose to become a free agent.
Exactly, would have been nice if Thierry could have at least guaranteed us a fee by signing an extension...

Signed for Bromley on a free. Jones didn't fancy him......

Not sure if serious? It's not like he came up through the academy. We signed him on a short term deal, we triggered an extension because it worked out well.

He owes us nothing come the end of the season, but if we get promoted we'll have got more from him than we bargained for.

I shall look forward to wetting myself with laughter next year!
  • Sadly I think there’s pretty much zero chance of Thierry signing a contract with us. I think his agent will look for maximum bucks and a signing on fee would help. Poor advice and yet another club beckons for the young man. Thierry is playing the best football of his career and we know that the spirit and camaraderie within the squad is really good. If he hasn’t decided to put pen to paper yet then I doubt the next seven matches will do the trick. Promotion could help us but even then I doubt it.
  • The way I see it with Small is he has had a lot of clubs for such a young player and he is playing the best football of his career here. If we go up, he is playing at the level he would be if he walked but in an environment he is comfortable in and where he is valued. That is why I think we will sign him.

If we can get promotion, we are in a lot better position than we were in 2019. Then we had more key loanees and players out of contract. I think with the players we have, We won't want to make massive changes, just a couple of signings. I think the progression of the club can be sold to Small.

I’m fairly confident we will also be offering a signing on fee.
  • Did I see correctly that he's got a new agent? So it's not the same agent that's punted him from club to club. I want to say he's now with Jon Fortunes agency but I might have that wrong?

A little piece about walking football for older gentlemen. Small pays the walking football group a visit

    Bodes well for us?

Of course but not one that’ll match a Championship team because that’s his destination I’m sure.

Considering his contract is expiring not sure the club would be contacted by interested clubs?
  • Young lad doesn’t fulfil the promise of his skill or progress with the clubs he’s been with, gets another chance and strikes it lucky that he’s ended up with a manager and some equally skilful and developing lads who between them could be collectively looking at opening doors that individually they wouldn’t otherwise. So why would any of them want to move on just yet  for an immediate pay rise but one which could set them back if they don’t very quickly fulfil the expectations of their new manager and teammates who won’t necessarily be setting up to play them as they are enjoying and thriving under now ?
  • Maybe being a bit nieve, but I was expecting him to bang on with us for another couple of seasons, albeit with release clauses dependent on promotions etc.

He looks like he'd run through brick walls for us at the moment, so hoping that's a sign he's happy for the moment too
  • Turns out that he doesn't "Fugging hate Millwall!" after all, boy are our faces red!

For me, he’s in a similar position to CBT where he’s generally really well liked at us for his speed, power and excitement and because we know what he can achieve we forgive the inconsistency.

I feel though like CBT that he wont work in every team. If clubs are bringing in a left back, then  I’m not sure he’s ready to be a championship starter. Edwards was comfortably our first choice and it was only down to necessity and a positional change, he found his way into our team. He’s made great strides this season and he’ll probably move on in the summer if we don’t go up but he needs to choose it sensibly because his stock could fall fast if he’s not playing regularly when it’s very much on the up now.

It was only 18 months ago he was failing in a loan move to Scotland.

As long as he gives his all for the rest of the season, then good luck to him in his choice.

Can you imagine if we get promoted and he signs for them! They'd have a song for him about how he "Fugging loves Millwall!"
We would most likely hear loud and clear as he smashes one in for them in front of the Covered End.

I think that they would if they want to agree on compensation without going to tribunal. Believe we are entitled to some for his development if he leaves?
