Expecting to see a hard fought 1-0 win here. Mansfield have won their last two, but against a really poor Bristol Rovers and a mid-table Lincoln City. Mansfield will want to confirm they are out of the relegation battle with a point against us, but the form we are in I can't see them keeping a clean sheet.
This will be just the fourth Football League meeting between Charlton Athletic and Mansfield Town, with the Addicks unbeaten in the first three (W1 D2).
After their 3-0 defeat at Peterborough, Charlton could lose consecutive away games for the third time in League One this season, doing so in September/October (v Stevenage and Bristol Rovers) and in November (v Exeter and Huddersfield).
If each and everyone of them play with the same intensity as on Saturday, then we need have no fear this evening or against anyone we come up against come to that! Let the oppo fear us.👊

^^ THIS ^^
And this should be our approach for the rest of the season.
Away form has been patchy but we’ve played at some tough grounds since mid January.
Dropped points at Birmingham, Stockport and Blackpool but the three of them have only lost six home games all season. Most recently, Peterborough hadn’t lost at home since the Christmas period.
Mansfield should be a slightly easier test although they’ll be pleased to have won their last two, breaking a run of 13 without a win, a run that started the same day we lost at Rotherham.
Long midweek journey and a tricky fixture. After the weekens most would expect us to win this quite easily but football never works like that. Deji has had some good results against us and that might happen again tonight, 2-2.
Mansfield came out of a dreadful run and are now one defeat in 5 all be it couple of draws .. got some very experienced players think this is going yo be tougher then people think I take a drawer tonight …
from what sourpuss Clough has said and the way they've played lately, the limit if huis ambition is gonna be a 1 nil home win. They'll be setting out their stall for 90+ minutes of non-football, tight, disrupted, spoiling dreadful cynical anti entertainment in the hope of nicking one and hanging on for grim death. They'll play like a ropey away side who know they're up against dangerous opposition. We need to do to them what we did to the Tykes. No pressure to score in the first minute but not time is too early. The longer Mansfield has to chase the game the better for Charlton to play some football On Saturday Jones clearly protected the leading lights of our attacking play with tonight in mind, plus Edwards's dodgy groin. So long as everybody showed up at SL yesterday fit and firing, Mansfield should be in for a torrid night Might not be fun to watch
Not sure if true but been suggested Jones and Ramsey didn't train.
When you have 3 games in a week then the training on Monday would've been light anyway. Ramsey took a big hit early on Saturday yet played the whole match but I'm sure that he would've had the ice for any bruising at the end when the adrenaline slows down in the body. Jones is playing through some pain but pro footballers are rarely 100 per cent fit after 39 games of a hard fought season.
The game is two hours away and looking forward to it but I'm enjoying basking in the 4-0 demolition job of Huddersfield, a side in the Play off mix who had won the week before scoring 5. After the 'Lord mayor show' and 'Banana skin' you can shove in room cliché 101.
Let this feel good factor continue...
Mansfield 0 Charlton 3. WTF Sam, that is ambitious 🙄💪🏿💪🏻💪🏻Small, Godden and Berry.
Comments
Matt Godden, first half right foot finish.
We'll square up that record tonight - W2 D2
Could. But won't.
This is a completely different team to that in Sep-Nov with a vastly improved mentality, strength and resilience.
To paraphrase a couple of Michael Caine lines from Zulu:
"The footy club doesn't like back-to-back defeats. It's bad for morale and upsets the good folk on Charlton Life."
Let the oppo fear us.👊

Sage this is how I see how Charlton are playing at the moment
Team sheet should read with
As Charlton play three at back Ramsey - Jones- Gillesphey
Small - Coventry -Docherty- Edwards
Berry
Godden Campbell
Edit: police have blocked a few roads off. A60 is heavy as a result.
We need to do to them what we did to the Tykes.
