NJ on TC post match: "I've worked in the Premier League, and he's as good as I've seen."
Bit hyperbolical, perhaps, but he's deserving of a bit of hype. I would say he's, at least, starting to look better than Rak-Sakhi was when he was with us because he's having those decisive moments but he's also always running and working and making sure he's involved across the whole 90 minutes (unless he's subbed off like tonight).

Still quite a way behind Rak-Sakhi for me, didn’t he get something like 15 league goals in a terrible team?

Across the whole season yes, but based on his form over the last month or two, I don't think it's such clear distinction.
Best player in the league by some distance to my mind.
Think Poku from Peterborough looks a fantastic player. Sure there's at least a handful a cut above TC that I can't think of top of mind, from Birmingham and Kone maybe from Wycombe.
TC is a key cog for us but needs to add some consistency to keep his current good form to be in thr conversation.

No harm at all in him bigging up his player but it's league one. He managed an admittedly terrible Southampton side, but they still had players like Aribo, Maitland-Niles, Lavia, Armstrong, so i don't think TC is on their level (yet).
He is doing really well, but needs to keep improving his output before he can be mentioned as the best player in the league - 6 goals and 1 assist in 39 games isn’t great. Last season CBT had 8 goals and 6 assists in 25 games, playing in a proper shit team and he was often slated. Funny old game.

Agree, though he’s been unfortunate with assists as watching the games and looking at the stats shows he’s good at creating chances. Not his fault if other players miss them, or they hit him the bar and bounce off the GK to become an own goal…
He’s our top player for xA (expected assists 🤓), chances created and big chances created, and fairly high up in the league overall for each of those. Keep this form up and it’ll show more in his end product sooner than later.
What is a "successful dribble"? Running off your chin but not ending up down your shirt?
These zero context "statistics" are just so much white noise static.
Take "assists" for example. If your strikers are shit or the goalie has a day out, you don't get credited with any "assists", irrespective of how many gilt edged chances you create. Saturday Docherty beats the goalie all ends up but the ball goes in off the 'keeper's arse = Owen Goal and no assist.
Last night the Stags were all over TC and most of the treatment was pretty cynical but he had the last word (beating the keeper at his near post always a bonus) Here's hoping he's fit for Saturday to rip Lincoln's backline several new holes. After last night he and Matt Godden should get time off until warm down on Friday.
It's probably buried somewhere on here but what are the lyrics to TC's song? Over in the blankets'n'flasks section, our hearing aids can't pick out the words from all the hubbub.
A successful dribble is when you dribble past a defender and retain possession. You're right that the context is really important for this stat. A few weeks ago Doku dribbled past Alexander-Arnold loads but wasn't able to do anything with the ball. In the case of TC he creates a lot of big chances , takes a lot of touches in the opposition box and has a high amount of successful crosses.

Some proper Charlton tinted glasses on there. JRS was streaks ahead.

TC has a bright future but JRS looked like a Championship player playing down a level, won games on his own.

He won't be in L1 next season. Hopefully we won't be either.
Ignore them calling him a left winger...

Looking a proper player now and praise to him for his improvement and to Jones for helping that improvement.

The player with the chance has to score. That's not Tyreece's fault.
