Fantastic player for us. Many memories. Completely gutted when he was sold too early by the Belgian madman.29

Probably my favourite player ever. What an absolutely unbelievable talent he was, the way he left still rankles with me to this day.
The Hartlepool " Yann Basten" goal just summed that day up perfectly.41 -
Modern icon!8

Imagine the stuff he could teach Leaburn... should get him back as a coach!11

Special K is back!
Our very own version of Thierry Henry, that geezer had magic in his boots!6 -
Good compilation of Yann's goals for: Yann Kermorgant
The second to last one is iconic but he was a much better header of the ball than I remember too - he could really hang in the air. Went on to play for Bournemouth and they got promoted with Yann scoring at close to a goal every other game - utterly stupid decision letting him go.

My old boss was a Reading supporter and asked me what I thought of Yann just before they played us at The Valley after he'd moved there. I told him I fancied yann to get a hat trick, and he damned near did.1

Remember when I went to Bramall Lane with a Blade-supporting mate.Side bet on shirt numbers of £5 a point! Yann, early in his first season with us, comes on as sub in second half, just before a corner and scores with his head from said corner, shirt number 36!!!! One very disgruntled mate.4

Beyond excited ❤️❤️❤️❤️1

Fabulous player. Iconic. When he was sold I knew the Belgians would be nothing but disasterous for us.15

I love him8

I can directly link my loss of unwavering enthusiasm in Charlton with his departure. I'd been a season ticket holder for 6-7 seasons in a row since I was about 17 through to the end of the season after he was sold. Went to loads of away days with mates, all the good stuff.
It wasn't just that he was gone, but the anger at a management team that would let players like him go that made me realize it wasn't the club I'd fallen in love with.
I have a signed pair of his match worn boots at home, really is my favourite player of all time who embodied that Powell era more than anyone looking back, which was also my favourite time as a fan.
If asked who my favourite player is of all time, Charlton or any player, it's him by a mile every time.

As I write this, I'm looking at a picture in my office of me celebrating with him on the pitch when we won promotion at Carlisle.
One of a small number of cult heroes down the Valley. Miles ahead of any other player for me.12 -

Powell, Jackson, Mendonca, Kinsella and Kermorgant are probably the players who have meant the most to me in the post Selhurst years.5

I am going to say something controversial here. He was excellent for us but if you played only 2.5 years for us and the most you scored in a season as a center forward was 12, you should remembered fondly but shouldn’t be considered a club legend19

I went to about 18/19 away games the season we got promotion, and the amount of headers he cleared off the line, and we were defending corners etc was ridiculous.
He didn’t need to be prolific in front of goal, as he had Bradley to do that, he did the ‘dirty’ side for the team, winning free kicks, and getting clattered numerous times, he would walk into this team, if we could do a Benjamin Button on him.13
