I reckon if Mannion, Ramsay, Jones, Gillesphey, Coventry, Docherty, Edwards, Small, Berry, Campbell and Godden injured we would definitely not be getting promoted!
Surprised people are not making more of this. Think it puts a bit of a dent in our charge. There will be games between now and the end of the season where a real need for a change of tact will be required at some point. Miles offered that change. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
I’m guessing people are less concerned about the impact on our season as Miles has only been a bit part player (at best) over the last couple of months. I’d much prefer he was available, but of all the players to be ruled out it should be of limited impact.
We are one Godden injury away from being absolutely fucked
Frustrating and disappointing for Miles. Just pray Godden stays fit otherwise we will struggle up top. Even if Kanu does get fit I am not confident he will be the answer in some potentially big games.
I'll reiterate what I've said for the past 2 weeks. If Godden gets injured we are done. Cooked. Kaput.
That’s not a hugely unique position is it? Most teams would be in trouble if their star striker was injured. 1998 without Clive Mendonca would be a very different story.
Godden to Leaburn is fine. Leaburn at his best was unplayable in December
Godden to Ahadme is not fine. I would say every other promotion contender has a better backup striker than Ahadme, Wrexham have about 8
Charlton need the money, to keep the academy going.
With the amount of games he's missed through injury the past couple of years or so his value has probably dropped considerably. There was a time we could have got 3 or 4 million for him. I doubt anyone would be prepared to pay anywhere near that now.

Lucky to get a million, only way we'd get more is with add on clauses. A shame for the lad starting out in his career and suffering a few injuries.
Godden has been great. But can he last 90+ minutes every game until the end of the season, including possibly the play offs? I can't see it ! Chuks has lost any pace, and he was never the fastest, hence he either has to foul, or get called offside, for trying to get the better of his defender.
Kanu would be handy, but he's out as well.
We need Ahadme to step up. Time to start giving him some minutes, as we are very short of options.
Why create our own issue over the chances we may have one in future. Ahadme is simply not good enough.
There were plenty saying that about Gillesphey, Mannion, Docherty, Berry, Coventry, TC, Anderson and Godden at various times earlier this season. Then we improved, improved and improved and now there's no-one who looks out of place. It's possible Ahadme still won't be up to it but it's hard to completely write him off now when he hasn't had the chance to show what he can do in this substantially better team
To be honest, following his very good run around Christmas I don't think Miles has looked up to much in terms of impact. He's young and he's still recovering from a long layoff so he was always going to tire before the other players, but his role recently has mostly been used as a means of resting Godden, either towards the end of a game or in miserable away games where his job is to get battered and keep Godden fresh. Looking at our schedule I'd imagine it's only really the Northampton and possibly the Cambridge game he would start given that the schedule gets quite tight around Easter. We haven't seen anything of Ahadme since we started actually playing well but I don't think he'd really offer that much less than Leaburn did against Stockport and Crawley where his job was just to be big and get his shirt pulled. If we need to bring a sub on to change things then that's what Chuks is for
Agreed but keeping Godden fit and fresh is absolutely vital and as u say, Leaburn was doing that and he was an alternative to Chucks as the impact man - I think his absence will definitely impact us at some point this season more than it has to date

Indeed. We were playing completely differently when Ahadme last had a run of games. He was constantly pumped high balls, with his back to goal. He was often out-muscled and looked poor.
Leaburn is likewise, not great in that situation, whereas Godden, despite being shorter, seems to win many more flick ons.
But now, we are getting in behind the defence and serving up some delicious balls for the forwards to attack, like the cross Small supplied to Godden v Huddersfield.
From his Cambridge highlights video, that appears to be Ahadme 's strength, attacking the ball in the area, with his head.

I think Miles should be sold.
Nice Lad but injury prone.
Hang on for another season and he walk.
