What is all this about? Who exactly would be offended?

    more to the point is what knob would possibly pay £900 for the 'privilege' of having either on their car in the first place.

    Perhaps the bloke who used his car in a robbery in Cardiff recently and didn't change the reg. plates which read J4MES. Even the Welsh OB were able to find him and the missing £30,000!

    This is quite pathetic and another very sad reflection on the way we bow to political correctness. While I personally agree with Large, in as much as I wouldn't part with my hard earned cash for such items, the terms in question are used quite freely and as a badge of honour by many in the gay community, and I reckon there would be many who would do so.

    Sadly yet again, the right to free thought and individual decision-making has been taken away.

    "Polital correctness"? That's a tired, tiresome, over-used phrase. What is it about this story that deserves the description "political correctness"? A couple of pejorative words get removed from a list of plates available for sale. They are not particularly "offensive", but they are unpleasant. Maybe not quite in the league of the F- or C- words, but removing them from being available in such a public arena is a sensible move.

    He'd moved the first O over and it read

    'O BO110X'

    I saw a Lotus in Bexleyheath a few years ago with the number A16 NOB. and he'd added the inch sign after the 16. There's also some tosser who lives in the area with TOP 6OY. It used to be on a 4x4 but noticed it on a big Chrysler a while ago.
