Surprised no one has mentioned ‘This City Is Ours’ yet. Four episodes in and pretty enjoyable so far although the scouse accents are grating.
Finished it yesterday. Excellent, well worth a watch.

Watched the whole series of ‘This City is Ours’ now and really enjoyed it. I see Sean Bean reckons it was one of the best things he has ever worked on. The Jamie character looked the spit of a young Wayne Rooney which was a bit weird . Plenty of scope for a second series.

What are peoples thoughts on The Penguin? I've made it to episode two or three, but what a drag. Each episode feels like a feature with no arc. Colin Farrell as the lead does a great job, I wouldn't have known it was him were his name not plasted across the screen. Shall i bother with the rest or does it remain dull?

I watched it to the end. It's fine and Farrell is great but it's nothing special. Plenty of better options

Bit of a different option but I've been watching the Chess show that comes on between Mastermind and University Challenege on Monday on BBC1, I think its called 'Chess Masters: Endgame' and I'm actually quite enjoying it. The format is a bit lame but the mixture of chess games/challenges they do are quite interesting - though I find Sue Perkins desperately annoying.
Not a series, but I thought Simon Schama's Road to Auschwitz on BBC2 last night was quite moving. I wasn't aware that the holocaust had origins in Lithuania

After a relatively slow build up the final episode really caught fire, 1883 was brutal and this wasn't much less so. The ending was beautifully done Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren stealing every scene they were in.
Hopefully there is more stuff in this universe as its such good tv

Yes, I really like it. 2nd episode was even better. Nice to watch something that Guy Ritchie has his name on which isn't just ludicrously over the top "gangster humour". The cast is excellent. Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are a great couple and I am not usually a big fan of Tom Hardy but he is excellent in this.
Was driving me nuts who the actor playing Eddie (the lunatic grandson) had previously played and it came to me this AM - he was Johnny Rotten in the Disney+ Series about the Sex Pistols.
After a relatively slow build up the final episode really caught fire, 1883 was brutal and this wasn't much less so. The ending was beautifully done Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren stealing every scene they were in.
Hopefully there is more stuff in this universe as its such good tv
I'm currently watching 1883 and it's amazing (although i though American Primeval had more violence!). So i dont cock up the order of watching, is it 1883, then Yellowstone, then 1923? or is Yellowstone not linked?

Siobhan Finneran showed why she should always be cast as the sister of the main character.
Couldn't carry the role off very well.
