Looking for 2 if there’s any spares going, apparently Valley Gold means more than 570 “loyalty” points🫣
Valley Gold was equal to 580 points (two season tickets and 12 away games) for this one.
I should have had 605 by my calculations (phase 6), but sucked it up and bought VG for six months to guarantee phase 7.
I was worried that it would sell out in phase 6. It would be interesting to know how many were left before phase 7 opened.
This one was always going to have issues with everybody buying two tickets. Even if the second ticket isn't for somebody they're going with, they'll easily be able make a profit by reselling it.
You make it sound like Valley Gold members never go and watch Charlton. There are some, but they are unlikely to have been buying tickets for this game. The VG people who were buying or trying to buy to more likely to be people like me. Season ticket holders with some away games but not enough to hit 590 points (in my case partly due to ill health). The number in phase 7 couldn't have been many. I was waiting and pressed buy as soon as I could, which didn't come up for me until about 2.02. Effectively all gone then.
I hadn't realised how small the gap between phases 6 and 7 was, just 10 points.
indeed ignoring the VG element, the points steps weren't very even - 640, 620, 590, 580, 500
Will be done based on number of people on those points though surely.
If they knew this so accurately, why rush through 3 phases in a day when it was never likely to go past phases 7 or 8?
You can’t really predict how many people will buy in each phase for any given game, only how many are eligible. I was confident it would get to phase 7 and surprised it didn’t get to phase 8.
Should still be one ticket each (you can buy more if you link to another person who qualified). No need for one for loyal traveller and then one for one of their mates who fancy a trip
I refuse to buy Valley Gold for 6 months to jump ahead of fans who have travelled more often the country than I have though.
How about joining Valley Gold to support the Academy, as I have done since it started! 🤷🏻♂️
Because I spend enough of my money on Charlton already (tickets/shop/food at ground/donations etc) and don't feel I need to support them more financially than I already do.

Perhaps forgoing a burger every home game in favour of a Valley Gold subscription would mean you wouldn’t be missing out on Cambridge and Wrexham 🤷🏻♂️

I wasn't surprised it sold very quickly. Even if we were midtable, this is still a new ground for nearly all of us, plus all the Hollywood glamour/weirdness!
