Blimey, apart from away tickets (which now appear to have to be bought 3 calandar years in advance), does ANYTHING Charlton related have to be done so little in advance ?

Noticed in the Leeds programme a Q&A with Simon Grayson cost £25 - what a ripoff

Ah, but up there, you get an entertainer who puts a ferret down his trousers at the end of Grayson's Q&A.

Wins on the "more information in the title" rule I'm afraid.

It really is an issue and one that I had hoped the Club had sorted out.

I said to Wendy and Rick that less than a month (let alone two days) isn't long enough for groups to plan and advertise.

    Henry,

You know - because you've had a copy of the letter explaining it - that a new process has been put in place in the last fortnight.

In fact, I'm told that CADSA have known Phil Parkinson was attending for some time (weeks not days), but have been awaiting confirmation of a player to attend with him.

With the best will in the world, we can't deal with things restrospectively. We are always dependent on the playing side being willing to commit names to events and we are trying to move this to one month in advance (and then hopefully longer), but it's a process.

We've organised at least as many events as you have over the years and we know the pitfalls, but in the end if the playing side won't help there's no stick we can use to beat them with.

Phil Parkinson and Mark Kinsella appear to understand and wish to assist. Let's give the new system a chance to settle down, shall we?

    Rick,

You know I got the letter because I replied raising this very issue, amongst others, with you.

Yes, the new process has to settle down but in the meantime Bromley Addicks were asked to give dates well in advance, which we did, but the playing side still wait until two days before to give the name of a player attending. Let's hope that we hear who is coming to out Xmas meeting in rather better time.

  • By the way Henry, have you ever seen Henry Irving (photo) and Billy Bonds in the same room?

Unless you know all the background with CADSA, it might be an idea to wait and judge on the basis of your own experience under the new system.

There was more to that quote but for some reason people choose not to use it : - (

    OK, Rick

I will wait to see what happens with Bromley Addicks and our request for Parky to come along in December.

    Some highlights from twitter:

CAFCofficial RT @all_quiet: Although unlike Curbs, he's very keen on chatting with fans. Elliot is a five-star credit to the club and the academy, btw

CAFCofficial RT @all_quiet: Parky was disarmingly frank about last season and cleansing squad of big egos. Can't help thinking he's Curbs' true successor

CAFCofficial RT @darryl1974: Impressed by Phil Parkinson at a Valley Q&A (@all_quiet for a bit more) - now off to be a Greenwich pub quiz mercenary

CAFCofficial "I wanted to get Luke Holden on [v Barnet], but the circumstances meant it wasn't possible," Parky tells CADSA last night (MW)
