Sounds like Jones isn't going to be available.

Understandable if he's being saved for Wycombe and Wrexham.

The Addicks can secure a top-six finish with a win against the Cobblers and as of Thursday afternoon the attendance for the game was already standing at 18,416.

That number means the match will be the highest-attended Easter fixture at The Valley since 2009, eclipsing the 17,322 that attended Charlton's Championship clash with Bolton Wanderers in 2013.

For the dream scenario of ending up in second place, we have 7 points to make up on Wrexham if our goal difference doesn't overtake theirs. 6 points to make up if it does. A big win would therefore be useful, and by a bigger margin than Wrexham will likely have against Bristol Rovers. Same kind of comments apply to Wycombe/Stockport - though I predict neither will win tomorrow.

For the immediate objective of securing a playoff place, and ideally 3rd/4th - any win will do, no injuries, plenty of game-time to share around ahead of the playoffs.

I have a feeling NJ is going to send the players out like rampant dogs, as we last saw against Huddersfield. Get the game won early.

Not for one moment am I assuming the win - Northampton will be desperate for a point or three for themselves and will be more than capable - we'll have to earn it.

Tricky one but with their injuries and assuming we do not have anymore missing we should be ok. They will look to frustrate but hopefully we can sneak it. 1-0 to the Addicks.

These games never pan out as you expect but for some reason I’m very confident that this team has the bit between its teeth and won’t slip up a 3-0 victory and 3 points to keep the pressure on those above us

Northampton's recent away record has been good but hopefully we can really go after them early on and get our noses in front.

The fact that a win will confirm our play-off place is a huge incentive, plus it would enable us to leapfrog Stockport if Peterborough get their finger out. It would put us in a great position going into the Wycombe and Wrexham games, with both of those teams under intense pressure.

NJ looks happy and relaxed in his interview. I think he has the team where he wants them and is exuding confidence that we can be promoted. I feel it too.

I'll say 0-1, and back it on william hill, as a sacrificial offering to the football gods.

We win tomorrow. But so do Wrexham, Wycombe and Stockport.
I might be wrong, but it feels like the four of us winning on the same day hasn't happened that much this season.

The ideal situation is to get a comfortable lead at half time then rest some players like TC for Monday. Whilst we have been great since the Christmas period, I still have the 'this is Charlton and nothing is easy' fear at the back of my mind. I do think we will come out of the blocks flying for this one though.

Wycombe have a tricky game away at Bolton, but Wrexham should walk Bristol Rovers.  I’m hoping we can overtake Stockport today, and should Wycombe slip up today, put some real pressure on them going into Monday’s game.  It would be amazing if by Monday evening we’re somehow in 3rd place

They’ve just got to get the job done today and win.  We don’t want a repeat of the Lincoln game.  We also need to come through the game without injuries.

Also hoping Reading drop points at home to Lincoln, and Blackpool win at Stevenage. Keep Blackpool still with a small hope that playoffs might just be possible ahead of their game at home to Wrexham on Monday.

Tricky time of year when it comes to player fitness/tiredness .. 2 big games in 4 days, who to rest who to save for the 'bigger games on Monday and later at Wrexham
The Cobblers are a decent lower league outfit with a tough guy manager and they would love to do us at the Valley after the hiding we gave them at their place, we'll need to be at our best and on our toes.
Decisions decisions .. I would go to make sure we win this one ensuring a play off spot 100%, that means the strongest available team minus Lloyd if there is any doubt whatsoever about his fitness.

Another home win after another tough afternoon .. and play offs here we DEFINITELY come

I think it's going to be tight and nervy but we clinch our play off spot today.
  • 2-0 win. Early goal followed by a very late 2nd goal.

Northampton are missing a few of their first team players through injury and along with Terry Taylor that may have an effect on how they approach the game. They could still be caught by Bristol Rovers but it's unlikely as Rovers have lost their last six and have only secured 7 points in their last 10, whilst Northampton's form is mid table. Excluding Birmingham, we have the poorest goal difference so a win is obviously a must, but a clean sheet with some flying in at the other end please. Prediction, three nil win to the addicks, no injuries, and Bristol Rovers shocking everyone and getting something at Wrexham, that's probably asking too much though.

Chuks to score today like Hylton did at their place
  • So, it’s going to be 16 degrees but will feel like 10 degrees, so basically cold. Cloud promised so no need to bring sunglasses. Cue it feeling like 25 degrees in the Covered End and a blazing sun blaring right in our eyes for the whole match.

Yeah these weather apps have been a bit off lately, other day was telling me it would rain at 1pm but was blazing sunshine till about 4:30 then got cloudy.
