Just seen a longer clip of the incident. Leary literally runs into Chuks' chest, Chuks at that moment has his arms both out wide and Leary goes over as if he's been sniped.
Interesting. So Chuks didn't push him with any force while he had his arms both out wide? Maybe that's why they both ended up on the floor.
Can't confirm that for sure as only saw it once, his arms did come in as Leary hit him, but they both went down.

I've seen a better angle now and there's no way he's getting that overturned. Clobbered the guy as he tried to run past him. That might be his third red for us, which is insane. Might be his last act as a Charlton player which would be a shame.
    Clear as mud
Gerrymanilow's call is the right one.

@Dazzler21 do you think there is good grounds to appeal? Prior to the camera moving away, I thought it was 6 of one and half a dozen of the other and a yellow for each

Couldn't say for sure, the camera wasn't particularly close - On that camera angle though I would definitely appeal.

Surely an appeal has no jeopardy?

Did he punch or headbutt him ?
Nope blocked Leary's run with his body. after some grappling. Leary had chuks shirt, chuks had his arms in his hands, Chuks backs off and Leary runs into him.
Seems like Leary is at fault for some of it. We definitely have a case upon appeal (we can appeal straight reds can't we?)

Nah, he will have to sign a new 4 year contract with us if we fail.

Yeah, that’s not a red, the bloke literally just ran into him.

Stupid for him to get involved but I was surprised he was brought on in the first place. Surely an opportunity to give Mbick some minutes?

Whether right or wrong why was he getting involved at all and on that part of the pitch

Can't embed the clip, but if that gets appealed it gets overturned based on Aaron Nash's Sky angle on twitter

Maybe I'm watching a different video?

    The ball is miles away.
    Aneke is blocking his run.
As the WW player goes past Aneke whacks his shoulder into the WW players face.
The ref was watching with a clear view.

Aneke is an idiot for even being there, let alone doing what he did.

He then went down like a sack of spuds holding his face. I've seen him do that at The Valley when there has been no contact. It's embarrassing.

The ref was looking in the other direction from where I see it 🤔

    Ref is watching play

Looked to me like a definite booking but that a red seemed harsh. The authorities, quite rightly, never like going against refs. There's no way this is getting turned over. More chance of us getting penalised for making a 'frivolous appeal'.

It does look like a shoulder by Aneke. Absolute madness. As someone said above, the fact that he did not protest greatly is also damning.  Very frustrating conclusion to a brilliant game.

I suppose the elephant in the room is what happens for him when the season is over. Out of contract and I can’t seriously imagine a queue of clubs looking at him given his injury record. Having said that he still offers quite a lot in league one when you can get him on the pitch. I wonder if we’ll be looking to offer him something should we still find ourselves in league one next season which is probably still favourite. Reduced wages with appearance bonuses or something could surely be worked out ? If by chance he finds a better offer then good luck to him. I doubt he’ll find a club like ours that’s willing to accept his contributions for what they are.
Elephant in the room?? It’s been debated and speculated on non-stop on this thread!!
That’s true but there’s now just a handful of games left and he’s been fit enough to contribute to our run in.

No jeopardy in making an appeal this time in the season 🤷‍♂️

The problem was Wycombe players going down looking for fouls all game. Just a bunch of cheating inbreeds. The useless ref eventually fell for it.

Red looks harsh but Chuks is still a twat for giving the ref a decision to make.

Well he is out of contract at the end of the season.

I get the feeling that it is more about do we want to keep him or not. Not what we thought of the challenge.

If we want to keep him (appeal) if we don't (let it stand).

Would be a shame if his Charlton career ends like that.

It isn’t a red but also doesn’t feel clear enough for it to be overturned sadly

The little fella just ran head first into a brick wall. Not a red.

The handbags prior to the incident really aren't going to work in his favour.
    Still think he chivved him.

Sky showed a better angle than the one in that Twitter video that was straight on and you can see Chuks lean his shoulder forward into the bloke as he runs into him. It's definitely deliberate provocation from the Wycombe player but it worked because Chuks was very provoked and clattered him
