Jones has followed up, confirming that he meant the "Circus" comment by way of the media attention that follows them, and says it must be a distraction - Seems that Wrexham are a bit too soft if things like that easily upset them ahead of Saturday, without knowing context

Absolutely rattled. Parky can't be that thick surely to not realise what NJ meant was the media circus?

It is a circus though isn't it? It is a reason why an innocuous club is disliked by most supporters of other clubs.

Reading through that forum and elsewhere the fans really seem bothered at being hated.

I suppose when every media outlet in the land is constantly blowing smoke up your arse and acting like you're the greatest story ever told in football and everyone's "second club" and want to win its a bit of shock when others well, don't.

Is there anyone in the squad who can do Lua Lua style back flips if they score? Reckon some Cirque du Soleil would go down well with the local circus goers.

I know Jones plays his cards close to his chest - so I doubt anyone will actually know the answer to this question! - but do we have any injuries for Saturday?

Seemed like quite a few finished the Wycombe game struggling a bit. Berry went off early with supposed "cramp" - which seems a bit unlikely after only 30 minutes; Godden was pictured with an ice bag on his knee; someone said Jones was on crutches; Small looked like he was limping a bit when he went off; and not sure if Campbell is really fully fit.

Will be a huge shame if injuries finally catch up with us on Saturday.
Mind games, NJ is messing with Wrexham heads. I suspect miraculous recoveries before Saturday.

I've seen Mannion go down with "cramp" or some other ailment within the first 25-30 minutes of matches and he'd done eff all up to that point to get cramp or injured.

If we beat them tomorrow, NJ should show up to the after match press conference like this.

It’s a strange one - normally NJ patters out the usual compliments to another team / manager et so why he chose to rile them up I’m not sure - could be a genuine mistake or maybe he wants to knock them out if their sit back and play in the break style - either way, I dont think motivation will be an issue for either side so not a big issue. Some of the hatred for Wrexham is baffling - so what if they are owned by a couple of actors and get some attention - their fans deserved a break and good luck to them - most clubs, indeed most companies in this country are foreign owned -sadly

For want of a better description, there is a ‘circus’ around Wrexham. FFS even the Charlton off-pitch management bought into it with half and half scarfs. Nathan may well have had another ulterior motive, he is Welsh after all and probably not a Wrexham fan - doesn’t he have a Cardiff connection (?), but more than likely he made the comment because he wanted the Charlton players to focus upon the matter of winning the game, not everything else they would have experienced for the home match and ten times more for this one.

Personally, I very much doubt it was intentional but the impact and wind up has been great from our perspective because it’s clearly distracted Wrexham.

He's from South Wales (Old, not New) so more likely grew up a Cardiff fan instead of Wrexham from the north.

Is there a north/south rivalry in Wales, the sort of rivalry that would make you belittle or take the p155 out of anything from the other part of the region.

That's definitely like that here in the old kingdom of East Anglia, the rivalry between the North Folk and the South Folk goes beyond the two football teams.

Jones should have stuck to his guns, as they still think he meant what he said.

Apparently they're gonna create a cauldron like atmosphere and intimidate Jones.

    Can't bloody wait for this

Also saw two interesting posts on their message boards, one poster believe us and Lincoln will be an easier test than Wigan and Bristol Rovers.

Another thinks Nathan Jones would go crawling to them for the Wrexham job. You can't make this up.

If we don't pull this off, I hope Wycombe pip them to it. Far more grounded fan base.

That last comment is amazing....The arrogance is outstanding and they genuinely wonder why the football world gets the hump with them!

Why do Lincoln have to come at them? Nothing to play for and if Wrexham lose to us a draw to Lincoln would be trouble.

One thing I have just picked up from a scan of their forum is someone thinks they saw us training in Cheshire yesterday. That's an interesting move going up so early and a decent financial commitment too

That was my thought. If Lincoln wanted to, they could shut up shop to wind them up and they'd have to go for it. Talk about not understanding what's actually going on 😂

Also Wigan and Bristol Rovers being tougher games? Do me a favour. Feel like he's drastically trying to downplay how big the game is tomorrow for them. It's a complete free hit for us as it's out of our hands anyway.

For them however, I think we were 15-18 points behind them at some point. There was never an expectation from that point we could get near them.
  • Best thing about all this is it’s all been about Nathan and not the team. 1-0 to Nathan. Sky should focus a ‘player-cam’ on him for the whole match because that’s who their bench, players and fans are are going to be concentrating upon.

When kick off times are moved around it must be a bit unsettling for the players.
If we travelled up today, then there is a lot of time to wait around tomorrow for the game to start. It must be hard to manage that time and keep the team primed for the kick off.
If Charlton are already up there, then making it a three or four day trip means the preparations can be adjusted to suit for the best. Food, sleep, training, exercise and whatever.
The Wrexham players will spend a lot of Saturday doing what they usually do before a home evening kick off, but maybe on this occasion will have more awake time to get nervous or bored or distracted.
We have to structure the build up and manage to the point that at 5.30 we’re totally poised to go at them.
