Anyone watching The Pilgrimage on BBC2? I'm loving the scenery, it's the Austrian/Swiss version of the Camino. However I have now decided Jeff Brazier is a man on the edge. He's been through a lot & makes out he's in complete control through self discipline & meditation but his eyes.......they don't lie.
4 episodes into 1883 and finding it a bit of a drag to be honest
Stick with it, opinions are subjective of course but it gets very good.
Yeah, I liked it all the way through. 1923 deteriorated rapidly towards the end unfortunately. Ridiculous plotting, awful dialogue. I've also given up with Yellowstone, part way through season 5. So many sub plots that went nowhere and characters who became more and more cartoonish. The scenery and photography is amazing though.

I can't get on with Harlen Coben adaptations - watched a couple then gave up, wife likes them so have seen bits of a couple more, they are all pretty awful in my opinion!
No idea if the books are better and just not good for TV?

Books are great fun - holiday reading page turners, with twists... Until you realise they're literally all exactly the same 🤣
I saw the new documentary on Netflix about the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing which I thought was pretty good. It did seem to miss out some crucial bits of evidence that I had seen in other documentaries?
I'm pretty sure there is CCTV from downtown Oklahoma City showing Timothy McVeigh driving the yellow Ryder truck, then moments later, him walking back the other way, confirming that he was in the area at the time. This documentary completely ignored that.
Anyway I went to Oklahoma City last year and saw the memorial which is really well done. You can still walk through the plaza of the old building which is interesting, and the original underground car park is still standing.
Andor season 2 I watched the first 2 epsidoes last night.
No spoilers in this but if you haven't seen it I dont want to give anything away so maybe skip
After the very relatable (for something star wars-y) opening I was struggling to remember who was who apart from Stellan Skarsgaard, Mon Mothma, the bearded English bloke and Cassian. There is a lot of breadcrumbs being laid which I remember the last season doing. I think I might have to watch a recap of that series to really get into this one. It looks incredible visually and I loved the mother in law scene. Overalp its a promising start and has some swears which I appreciated especially in star wars. I have a feeling this is very superfan friendly and the real die hards will know the relevance of a lot of the stuff going on. I'm along for the ride and hopefully it gives us a lightsabre at some point for the plastics like me
Love Race Across The World, think it’s a great programme to watch as a family and see that there is so much difference in the world, so much to explore etc
Don’t seem to be too many working class in this series. Look a good mix of pairs though.

I'd prefer say the first series's route to do personally - lots of different experiences through Europe, Mongolia etc, then the Far East.
But I like the fact it's a different route to previous series - they've not done Nepal and India before.
Felt like last series was a bit of a rehash of S1, Thailand and Cambodia again for example, and slightly samey.
Love Race Across The World, think it’s a great programme to watch as a family and see that there is so much difference in the world, so much to explore etc

It’s a proper ‘travellers’ route. The Indian parts are the ones we did back in the day before mobile phones and you just had internet cafes with dial up that may or may not work. I'm looking forward to see how it’s changed. It will really test their metal. The only advantage they’ll have there over the likes of China is that even in the smallest of backwater villages they’ll speak English. They love showing off their English.

That sounds much better than the series that was set in South America where it was basically people travelling from one coach station to the next 90% of the time!
Watched last night’s episode of Ambulance, my god it was a hard watch. The crews are so professional and dealt with people in whatever situations with the upmost respect.
Reunion on BBC1 was excellent, gloomy but brilliantly done. With Eddie Marsan and Anne Marie Duff is supporting roles, the omens were good. Neither of those are taking jobs for the fee. Law enforcement and the probation service got a good kicking but not to the detriment of the drama. Matthew Gurney and Lara Peake ought to be receiving nominations, come awards season.
No spoilers, but it threatened to tie up all a little too tidily, then didn't.
The Last of Us Season 2 has started with a bang! I knew of the game and sequel’s general story direction so nothing surprised me as such so far, but am sure the outcomes after two episodes will have left more general viewers reeling.
Andor season 2 is most definitely not a kids’ watch, haven’t checked the rating, but attempted rape and grittier language/tone serve up what the realities around an Imperial led Galaxy would be expected to be like. The direction is amazing and budget must have been huge, as sets and SFX are as good as in any movie.
Critics claim it is better than Season 1 overall, so looking forward to the next three episodes released next week.
