I wonder if QPR are already holding talks.
chamoionship level0 -
Kelman is a strong player with great technique, he's got a lot more to his game than goals. He could learn to use his body better, so still room for improvement. It's also an excellent tally for a 23-year-old, so probably Champ bound.
I'm a sucker for a technical striker... A big reason I never liked Bonne and Stockley!7 -

Look what Jones asked of Campbell.
Definitely improved his game.0 -

I don't know the exact number he was involved in, but Kayne Ramsay we signed from Harrogate conceded almost 70 as well.
Defender is a tricky one cause you can genuinely be a good defender but concede a lot if your midfield isn't great, or goalie, or any other variables.
I only said Barker because he played well against us and believe he's the highest rated player statistically at Crawley Town. 2nd on sofascore, 1st on whoscored.8 -

I don't wanna be too harsh on our keepers, and I'm not heightest, but I think they both lack stature at times and don't fill me with confidence.
The two standout keepers against us this season for me have been Corey Addai for Stockport, and Arthur Okonkwo of Wrexham. Both seemed like giants and appear to claim everything.
Addai: 2.03 meters/ 6 foot 7
Okonkwo: 1.98 meters/ 6 foot 5 (almost 6)
Our keepers are:
AMB: 1.85 meters / 6 foot 1
Mannion: 1.91 meters / 6 foot 3
Those extra couples of inches make a massive difference (waheyy) and with Wickens being 1.98meters/ 6 foot 6, it makes a massive difference imo.

Some stats about Wickens
0 -
Compared to Mannion1
-
From the stats looks like much of a muchness but his long kicking accuracy is somehow even worse than Mannion0
-
Rumarn Burrell for me0

My personal Wishlist
I’ve mainly scoured TransferMarkt and Fot Mob for those Out of Contract this summer.
CAM:
- Charlie Webster - 21 - Burton - (Would cost a fee) - 5 goals this season, good potential, has a bit of bite about him, could see him fitting in a Jones team.
I would really like to see this, I have seen Webster play a few times and I think he's a really good player at this level. Comfortably has the potential to play in the Championship in my opinion. I like that he is a bit hot headed, he works like a dog 😊

I called Chuks gash the other day and now him and a couple of others find it really funny to keep using the word.
Just thought I'd explain rather than their sense of humour amongst eachother going over your head, like it probably would our keepers.2 -

Unless they're Kent league wicket stats obv, then they're really cool and telling

I think in this day and age your keeper should be your tallest player or at least be a similar height of what feels like the average modern day centre back height of 6'3+.
You look at all the current best goalies,
Alisson, 6'4
Courtois, 6'6
Donnarumma, 6'5
Martinez, 6'5
There will be some good examples of smaller goalies like Ederson, Oblak, etc, but they're all special in their own right.
At this level, a big bloke who can cover the goal and catch a ball will do.0 -
Griffiths was the best keeper I saw this season. Now back at WBA and in the first team. Don't feel he will be available. George Wickens is a lot better than we already have.3
-
and Matt Sels and Kepa who have been two of the best this season are 6'2, talent over height is what matters, otherwise Fraser Foster will still be a number one somewhere.0

Ligue1: 6'4
La Liga: 6'4
Bundesliga: 6'4
Serie A: 6'7
Eredvisie: 6'4
I am not saying a keeper needs to be 6'4 plus to be good, but all the best form keepers right now are, unless they're part of a great defensive team, which is a whole different conversation.
The game is changing and people are simply getting taller. I genuinely think unless you're a special talent, you need to be around those height marks to be a top keeper.
I never feel comfortable with our goalies over the years as they just don't have enough presence. I think the last keeper we had that had that air of authority about him was Amos.0 -
Brentford have been leaky defensively this season, that's a lot to do with Flekken making a ton of saves (https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/saves)
If you cherry pick the keepers then yes, in your view the best ones are conveniently 6'4 plus, but going on performance this season, Selz is one of them, and he doesn't fit your criteria of what makes a good keeper.
As for Mannion, I think he's been fine, the upgrade for me would be someone who is a good Championship keeper as a minimum0 -
I think it depends on whether the Lincoln keeper is considered to be able to step up a level or 2.
I remember when we signed Ben Hamer, he was signed because they saw him being able to play Championship football in the next year or 2 of which he did. He managed a few games in the Premier League too for Leicester.
Lets hope the Lincoln keeper is seen like that.4
