In fairness to Edwards he's got a bit more about him in an attacking sense than Solly IMO, not saying he's a better full back mind
Think your memory is failing you there, prime solly was superb on the offensive and certainly much more of a threat than Edwards (who I like a lot but isn’t really offensive or turning opposing defenders inside out)
Yeh maybe you've got a point, but I never saw Solly drop a shoulder and score with his weak foot the way Edwards did vs Bristol Rovers
Wouldn’t be surprised if we see more signings from Scotland in the next few years. Got to be more bargains out there.
Will be interesting to see what the transfer strategy looks like when Scott's replacement comes in , clearly Jones has identified Scotland as somewhere he thinks he can get talent , obviously the Theo Bair move didn't come off in the end because Auxerre offered a lot more money but Edwards has been superb and an absolute bargain for £75k.
Brilliant once again today. So rarely puts a foot wrong
I actually thought his passing was pretty off today and he struggled slightly with McIntyre alongside him. Once he was moved to LCB he seemed to settle down though and looked better

It might not have been his weaker foot but I'd take Solly's screamer away at Blackpool over that goal every day of the week
I absolutely love Josh. Rock hard, rarely gets beaten, decent ent skill for a left back. Proper Charlton type of player and seems like a top lad too. Fantastic signing for us
Love him. My current favourite player. Biggest compliment I can pay him is he is exactly the sort of player Curbs used to sign.
Looked much more solid at left centre back than MacIntyre did.
Whoever scouted him deserves a big bonus. He was good from game one but has really come into his own as his settled into League One.
Has areas he needs to work on, but has time to do that and he’s building on such a solid base of consistency and doing the basics very well. He strikes me as the kind of player who could grow with a team as they work their way up the ladder and eventually get established in the Premier League - similar to how someone like Simon Francis did at Bournemouth.
I hope he gets a chance to do something like that with us and can rack up a few hundred more 7/10 performances.
Been a long time since I last had an affinity with a player, but josh is definitely on that list. He's a proper player that runs through brick walls for the team and also has the ability to back it up.

Also never seen Edward’s score like solly did away at Blackpool in the championship. Calm.
i love Edwards. Think he’s great. Top lad and great, versatile player.
that said, he should have closed that fella down at the end today and not let him just bring it down!
He isn't Lloyd Jones level but he suffers from being ultra consistent. He hasn't had the highs of Gillesphey but he hasn't made the mistakes Gillesphey has either. It's brilliant to have someone who is almost always a 7/10 every fixture
I think Josh has improved his attacking role as the season's gone on and of course he's got that long throw weapon too. We definitely look weaker when he not in the starting 11.
Edwards has been our 4th best defender this season imo. He's still been really good but Jones, Gillesphey and Ramsay have been titanic
He's a left footed, Scottish version of (prime) Chris Solly. Very rarely can you point out something spectacular that he did to win a game but on the other hand you would probably not notice him making any mistakes that lead to goals or even opportunities.
I rate him very highly. Think he’s ready for the Championship - hopefully we are there ourselves, or no one else takes a punt in the summer. An underappreciated cog in the defensive machine that Nathan Jones has built.

Since the RD era we’ve either signed good players on short deals or been lumbered into long deals for players we can’t get shot of.
Feels great we have Edwards tied in for another 3 years still.
