Think it's more about getting AMB some minutes and match sharpness post injury just incase he's needed in the playoffs. Doubt there is anything untoward with Mannion.bolloxbolder said:We can kiss goodbye to promotion if Brewers in goal. Pray for Mannion1 -
What do you mean?ForeverAddickted said:
Thought we may have rested one of the StrikersMarcusH26 said:A lot stronger than I was perhaps expecting.
Surprised that Mannion is missing though, dont really need to rest a Goalkeeper do you?
The number of times he's gone down crook in matches over the last couple of months and requiring treatment he's obviously in need of a rest ...

Start strong, get a lead, take off the important players and get minutes into the fringe players' legs.SantaClaus said:Why take such a risk? That team's just asking for trouble.3 -
Really interested to see how Mitchell does3

Can't go 100% risk free. There will have been conversations with the medical team, there's a week to the first leg. For some it'll be better to play them and keep their match sharpness and the only risk of injury will be a freak injury that could happen in training.SantaClaus said:
I count 7 crucial first teamers in that line up. I think we'd be screwed in any of them went down.golfaddick said:
I agree. An injury or suspension to either TC or Godden could kill us.SantaClaus said:Why take such a risk? That team's just asking for trouble.5 -
That's exactly the sort of team I was expecting, based on what Jones said.
Don't play the players with injury issues, but play a strong team to finish the season well and take winning momentum into the playoffs.
You can't rest players "just in case" as injuries also happen in training.
I'm pleased Mitchell has got the nod over McIntyre, a more natural replacement.5 -
Line up is a good compromise i m o .. a back four, experimental midfield and regular attack0

If he had anything about him he'd be able to do both ...Oggy Red said:

It’s still a back 5. Watson and Edwards WBs with Ramsay, Mitchell, Gillesphey CBsLincsaddick said:Line up is a good compromise i m o .. a back four, experimental midfield and regular attack4 -

Best to keep your keeper fit or not suspended for the play offs, and Will kept going down all the time around the 23rd minute 🤨1

Not even the second leg of the semi-final when we're bringing in a four-goal lead?ForeverAddickted said:Last game of the season that I'll be able to relax and enjoy0 -

It's not a straightforward back 3 or 5 system though, as otherwise you'd have a left winger in TC playing ahead of a left wingback in Edwards.fenaddick said:

Will you still be saying that when we are 6-0 up with five minutes to go and us needing another to finish 3rd?ForeverAddickted said:Last game of the season that I'll be able to relax and enjoy5 -
My dad's come down to this game today and he made a wonderful suggestion re the play-offs.
We're in the play-offs and so are Sunderland (albeit ours is Div 3, theirs is Div 2). If (when) the Black Cats lose in the semi or the final can we then play them in another play-off final, for old time's sake, with the winner taking the Div 2 spot?
Gives us two bites at the cherry ...4 -

Feet that high when tackling won't result in a free kick to us. ☹️SantaClaus said:Briston_Addick said:

It is, you can have wingers in front of a back 3 just like in a 343. Ours is often more hybrid because of Small but Watson doesn’t offer that. My point was more that it isn’t a back 4 than anything elsekillerandflash said:

It's the lopsided back 5 we've been playing for the 2nd half of the season. Or even more. Watson in the Small role on the right as the more advanced wing back. Edwards slotting in at fullback when needed. TC up front but pulling out wide on the left at timeskillerandflash said:

More people in seats than is normally the case 20 mins before kick off.5 -
It's definitely busier today.1

Edwards plays like a conventional left back, whereas Small on the right has a license to attack, just as TC on the leftcantersaddick said:

Mitchell looks a bit trimmer to me. Maybe that's been an issue?0

If Jones, Small, Berry and Mannion are all injured I don't think we'll enjoy the next fortnight1
