  • No Small ?
    He’s off…🤷‍♂️
Thought I could smell something funny
  • We can kiss goodbye to promotion if Brewers in goal. Pray for Mannion
Think it's more about getting AMB some minutes and match sharpness post injury just incase he's needed in the playoffs. Doubt there is anything untoward with Mannion.

A lot stronger than I was perhaps expecting.
Thought we may have rested one of the Strikers

Surprised that Mannion is missing though, dont really need to rest a Goalkeeper do you?
    What do you mean?

The number of times he's gone down crook in matches over the last couple of months and requiring treatment he's obviously in need of a rest ...

    😉
  • Why take such a risk? That team's just asking for trouble.
Start strong, get a lead, take off the important players and get minutes into the fringe players' legs.
  • Really interested to see how Mitchell does
  • Line up is a good compromise i m o .. a back four, experimental midfield and regular attack

It’s still a back 5. Watson and Edwards WBs with Ramsay, Mitchell, Gillesphey CBs

  • Last game of the season that I'll be able to relax and enjoy
  • Best to keep your keeper fit or not suspended for the play offs, and Will kept going down all the time around the 23rd minute 🤨
  • Last game of the season that I'll be able to relax and enjoy
Not even the second leg of the semi-final when we're bringing in a four-goal lead?

    Oh you naïve soul :D

    Burton make FIVE changes

They're playing their formation dancing XI today.

    Or practicing their tackling.

It's not a straightforward back 3 or 5 system though, as otherwise you'd have a left winger in TC playing ahead of a left wingback in Edwards.
  • My dad's come down to this game today and he made a wonderful suggestion re the play-offs.

We're in the play-offs and so are Sunderland (albeit ours is Div 3, theirs is Div 2). If (when) the Black Cats lose in the semi or the final can we then play them in another play-off final, for old time's sake, with the winner taking the Div 2 spot?

Gives us two bites at the cherry ...

Feet that high when tackling won't result in a free kick to us. ☹️

Will you still be saying that when we are 6-0 up with five minutes to go and us needing another to finish 3rd?
    F**K!!!... Not now I wont!!!!

It is, you can have wingers in front of a back 3 just like in a 343. Ours is often more hybrid because of Small but Watson doesn’t offer that. My point was more that it isn’t a back 4 than anything else

It's the lopsided back 5 we've been playing for the 2nd half of the season. Or even more. Watson in the Small role on the right as the more advanced wing back. Edwards slotting in at fullback when needed. TC up front but pulling out wide on the left at times
  • It's definitely busier today.

Edwards plays like a conventional left back, whereas Small on the right has a license to attack, just as TC on the left

  • Mitchell looks a bit trimmer to me. Maybe that's been an issue?
  • If Jones, Small, Berry and Mannion are all injured I don't think we'll enjoy the next fortnight
