It is a pity any of that squad will be released.
For example we generally thought Adigun, Santos, Chin and one or two others, well regarded by regular U21 watchers, might make it with us. But they were released.
Because he is contracted I believe Rylah will be loaned out next season, but it will be with regret if Aaron Henry, Harvey Kedwell, Toby Bower, Patrick Casey(!) and Seydil Toure are released…maybe one or two others too.
Some of those I have mentioned above will nevertheless make a respectable career in football.

    edit Casey is under contract.
  • Isn't Casey still under contract? Thought he signed a long term pro?

Yeah, 3 year deal signed in 2023. Might even be an optional year they didn’t announce, as we saw with Leaburn.

    Yes. I forgot that.
In my opinion Casey and Rylah would benefit from a season long loan at a credible club.
With Scott Lindsey there, maybe Crawley might be an option.
  • Casey is injured again but I'm not sure for how long.
  • I thought we usually got top two in the U18s?

U21s I don't recall us finishing top two for a while, as its an Age Group thats disrupted with players going up to the First Team or out on Loan

    Edit: 1st - 6th - 7th - 1st - 1st - 2nd - 4th - 4th - 5th - 4th - 8th - 8th is our U21 record, with 2017/18 being the last time we got into the Play-Offs in the Professional Development League, 4th is definitely an improvement and a return to normality given the last two seasons.
    Thanks for this.

I must have been thinking of the U18s,  4th not such a bad showing given recent history then
  • Here’s how our U21s line-up in this afternoon’s PDL2 fixture against Coventry City U21s: T.Reid; Hobden, Gough, Toure; Brown, Huke, Henry, Trialist; Safa, Rylah, Wales Subs: MacLorg, Bower, Belton, R.Reid, Sol-Loza
  • No Dixon but minutes for Aaron Henry
  • Sadler gone.  Maybe the last game for Toure, Huke, Bower too.

Good that Henry is fit enough to play.  Travelled with the first team to Wrexham but would be very surprised if kept on next season.

    Guessing the trialist is Ivanov.

M'bick, Fullah, Mwamba, Enslin all with the first team I assume.  Casey and Laqeretabua injured.

They played very recently too so would be bad for their recovery to play so soon. Someone on Twitter saying Laq is injured. Feel sorry for Casey, could have been a chance at a breakthrough season but seems to have had bad luck with injuries
  • We’re getting hammered 0-0 here
  • 1-0 Coventry. Been coming.
  • 1-0 to Coventry, quite a long time coming because they have dominated completely, with their triallist outstanding for them.
    Very disjointed today.
  • Forgot about the game. But watching the second half on the stream. Charltons passing has been awful, and players seem to not know where each other are supposed to be. Also Coventry very good at the press their players looking far more lively.

Just as well you missed the first half - second has been a big improvement!

Quite a few u21 regulars missing which can’t help.
  • Rylah not got shooting boots on today. Finishes 0-1.
  • Couldn't force our way back.
