Because I'm sensible and wouldn't do that. I'd only ever take one of my Charlton relatives or friends to a game who goes a significant amount of games. Which was my point, it should be assigned to a Charlton fan on the site.Croydon said:Braziliance said:Belv said:Someone with 860 points will never, ever miss out on a ticket. The “Humdinger” applies throughout, what’s stopping you getting a second ticket in phase 2 for a mate who’s never been at the expense of someone who might miss out in phase 4?

No chance. Like absolutely zero. There's a reason the tiers are set at the level they are. It isn't guess work.If so, then most away games in league one would never get past phase 2 or 3, which isn't the case.0 -
My mate got his 2 by phoning the ticket office.1

I gave up after queueing for twenty minutes then having the screen freeze on me every time I selected something.0

If we had 900+ fans with that many points then all our games would sell out and some of the aways with smaller allocations wouldn't even reach phase 2. Someone posted on here that the league game at Wycombe 2 weeks ago reached phase 5!2 -

Why are they using this "new" system for home tkts when the usual method worked for us yesterday ? Why not utilise the current queue system just for away tickets !!
And why doesn't someone have their finger on the button to send the everyday emails we all receive , to send us up to date info re the ticketing issue ?0 -

LargeAddick said:Thing is Valley Gold benefits the Club. No matter how many away tickets we sell over a season the benefit to the Club is zero. And this isn't a dig but if you are attending that many away games and spending that amount of money then surely £10 a month for Valley Gold isn't too much of a stretch? If it is miss an away game or two to cover the annual cost of Valley Gold.2

I hope the selling of tickets is sorted out for the 26/27 season when we're in the Premier League.8

Setup and ready to go for 2pm12

Braziliance said:I've said it before, the fact I'm on 860 loyalty points and not in phase 1 is ridiculous.
That's 400 loyalty points from aways and if we had a smaller allocation I could potentially miss out. There's no way Valley Gold should trump 18+ aways. That's over £400 roughly just on the tickets.
The real humdinger is that someone with VG and 620 points, could buy a ticket for someone who has never been to a Charlton game. I don't necessarily mind when it's for an actual Charlton fan, but it should have to be assigned to a Charlton fan with a reasonable amount of points at least.3 -

In L1 with most away teams having small grounds its a travelling "elite" or group of particularly dedicated fans who will get the tickets every time.
I managed to get to Leyton Orient away last season and Gillingham away FA cup, both were enough to make me glad to let others suffer for the cause.
If the opposition has a small away section of the ground I think it would be fair to restrict ticket sales to only the "points" holder.ie no mates who are not "points holders" themselves.
Maybe this happens already?5 -

Totally agree with this, how many times does someone's mate come along for the ride or used to live there etc. I know people who are coming next Thursday who haven't been all season, whilst others who have are struggling. This 4 tickets per ST holder is stupid also in my view.4 -

I'm VG and not much else (now living 250 miles drive away). Have had it for years, was a VIP, VIP 5 year ST holder, ST holder in 5 different decades etc etc.... but well, that's all in the past isn't it? For what it's worth I do feel I get a bit of an unfair advantage over some, even though the VG payment is largely charity.
Having said that - I agree, the 2 ticket thing seems wrong, and I'm guessing I might be struggling in phase 5 anyway.1
