Can anyone recommend a road to park on if I’m getting there around 4pm ish? Something I can stick in the sat nav?
Thanks to those who have suggested parking areas but I’m struggling to find where they are and where I can leave the car at that time, get some food and get away for a 4 hour drive home after the game.
Lombard wall is still an option. No parking restrictions and you should get a space that early. 15 mins walk to the ground.

There is no problem parking at 4pm in all the streets around the Valley, as its 2hrs free parking, stick it in any parking bay as restrictions end at 6.30pm. If you park at 4pm, there won't be any wardens walking around taking note of your car reg and coming back to see if you have exceeded 2hrs.
I'm arriving at 5.30pm with my son and we will park as close as possible to the Valley to meet 2 friends for a bite to eat and are planning to get into the ground by 7pm. I think it will be chaos at the turnstiles with the sell out crowd all with printed tickets & too few stewards etc and just want to enjoy the build up.
  • Thanks all

Anyone have an issue downloading their tickets?

Got 4 tickets in my account, when I click ‘Download’ I get this error screen

Guess I need to call the ticket office if not, eek.

Yeah I get the same, check if they emailed you the tickets otherwise give them a call and they'll email them to you.

The Doncaster game was chaos getting into the north lower, let's hope all the turnstiles are in operation. I think it will help a bit that kick off is 8 rather than the 7.45
  • Can’t you just scan tickets off your phone rather than print them?

    Thank you!
  • Anyway all sorted now, its on the phone - what could possibly go wrong on the night?

Yes. You just have to enlarge them a little on your phone screen when you get to the scanner.
  • Pretty much a given that there will now be an extra 1500 home tickets on sale on Wednesday then.
More like 1200-1300 once seats are blocked out for separation of fans right?
They've sold 1200. If we give 1300 to home fans that leaves 800 seats spare. If you're saying we need to block off 800 for separation, that seems like too many surely? It's Wycombe not Millwall.

As an estimate, I was thinking we'd need to block off about 300. No idea if that's close to the real figure required.
  • interesting insight from Sheffield United as to direction of travel for allocations and ticket prices

Very interesting that they are doing 1 per person only and no general sale, due to risk of other fans buying tickets.  I suspect this is less of an issue in League One where they can sometimes struggle to sell the whole stadium.

Those prices are mental. We've got access to a 8 person box at £100 a head, but the atmosphere would be garbage and I'm sure my 6 year old would be bored before we even kicked off.
  • Seems like Wembley are retaining more Club Wembley this year for the Championship game it seems, usually let the who tier switch to club sales for the game.

  • I suspect Wycombe would turn us round if they win the toss and we would shoot towards the Covered End first half. Another reason to open up the Jimmy Seed stand if possible.
Their gameplan will have to be to get the first goal, stop us from scoring after that, getting the Charlton fans uneasy or quiet and trying to nick another. If from the start we are kicking towards a packed and likely well inebriated Covered End that’s probably been in full song from half hour or so before kick off and making their goalkeeper very uncomfortable I suspect the first goal and goals are more likely to come from Charlton. My guess is Wycombe will want to kick towards the Covered End first half and hope to have got the job done by half time.

Got to remember that Doncaster did the same thing, they turned us around for the first half, and whilst we were attacking towards the Cupboard End (we got the first goal), they were able respond in "good" fashion, because they were equally shooting towards their own fans.
  • does anyone know what the clubs pre-match plans are and if flags will be given out etc and is the covered end Addicks flag the only one or will we bring back the flag which used to be in East Stand in Prem days, a friend sent me a video from his seat at WTH for recent match......to quote...
"Filmed this pre kickoff at Spurs for the 1st leg of the Europa League SF against Bodo Glimpt. Hope the Addicks give out flags for the game at the Valley v Wycombe, as it makes the game seem even more special and noisier !
    Up the Addicks !"

    We don’t need gimmicks.
All we need are enough goals...

If people are holding and waving flags they won’t be clapping, timing for songs and chanting will be all over the place and the atmosphere will be shit. Give them to the kids by all means but not the adults.
