I agree, there have been matches at Valley where I seem to remember flags or was it red cards were given out and they added to the pre match build up and didn't prevent singing and cheering the team on. Is it naff, not Charlton, don't think so? Its a big occassion so why not do something special at Fortress Valley.
Might be just me, but when I go to Charlton, there seem to be a lot of fans who dont/maybe don't want to, wear colours. I think that a sea of red would be a good idea! Visually and for the players it would be great. It's not a gimmick!

I suspect Wycombe would turn us round if they win the toss and we would shoot towards the Covered End first half. Another reason to open up the Jimmy Seed stand if possible.
Would their keeper still have the sun in his eyes??
Treat the game as a normal league game, business as usual, there's a job to be done. That said, the 'get in early' message was loud and clear last week. For me, just trundling out a Mendonca / Bauer / Curbs / Shirtliff (for the old timers) and the roof will completely lift off - no special effects needed.
Turn up wearing red - absolutely.
Not being miserable, just think the magnitude of the match doesn't need elevating, everyone is nicely wound up for this already!
Will be interesting to see what the club have lined up, whatever happens I'm sure it'll be great.
Red or yellow wall, both Liverpool and Dortmund have benefited from their fans passion and display of colour...
"If you're an opponent, he presses you and breaks you, but if you have him as a support behind your back as a goalkeeper, then it motivates you many times more and it's a fantastic feeling", says Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller for "Yellow Wall".
so why not Covered End and rest of Fortress Valley being a wall of Red?
Can anyone recommend a road to park on if I’m getting there around 4pm ish? Something I can stick in the sat nav? Thanks to those who have suggested parking areas but I’m struggling to find where they are and where I can leave the car at that time, get some food and get away for a 4 hour drive home after the game.
There is no problem parking at 4pm in all the streets around the Valley, as its 2hrs free parking, stick it in any parking bay as restrictions end at 6.30pm. If you park at 4pm, there won't be any wardens walking around taking note of your car reg and coming back to see if you have exceeded 2hrs. I'm arriving at 5.30pm with my son and we will park as close as possible to the Valley to meet 2 friends for a bite to eat and are planning to get into the ground by 7pm. I think it will be chaos at the turnstiles with the sell out crowd all with printed tickets & too few stewards etc and just want to enjoy the build up.
If you follow this advice and park in a 2 hour free bay, you MAY get a ticket, despite what TRA says.
Nothing wrong with some extra flags and extra colour for a big game - there's a happy medium to b e struck between millwall (don't do or sing anything we wouldn't have done in 1970) and Palace (lets make this look and sound like a fairytale out of a disney film). Mind you, we don't need any contrived gimmicks - we've sucked the ball into the net all season. I'm expecting it to go up a gear like the ipswich and doncaster semi's however -a colloseumesque cauldron - COYR!!!

If you want to wear red and bring a flag good for you. Personally I'd prefer to watch the game than have a flag waved partially blocking my view.

Sorry stoneroses19.

Maybe buy a red flask to wave?
Why not slap "Operation" in front and have the whole team bend over in the centre circle for Wycombe to do as they please with.
NEVER go the Palace route, no gimmicks!
