If you can't be at the playoff matches where will you watch them?

  • I ended up watching a Birmingham blogger on youtube doing commentary of the game :(   I was watching on tele a blogger who was watching on tele :D
I wouldn't say he was bad but the old snooker commentator Ted Lowe was made to look excitable!
In fairness he didn't have much to work with!
  • 2nd leg I will be in Alice Springs.
    Lucky Alice!

Ah, I was going to ask 'Will she notice?'

I don't have a ticket for the home game and it's already sold out.

Anyone know of a good Charlton pub near the ground to watch the game?

I'm guessing the bar downstairs outside the west stand will have it on. As long as it's 99.9% in time and live coverage, I'll take that.

I'm sure you'll get one if you ask around on here.
  • I'll be in Mojácar for both legs and absolutely fuming about it. Never been less excited to go on holiday tomorrow! Lesson learned do not agree to a holiday in May even if you're 13th in the league at the time!

Hopefully the Irish bar will have it on, if not its a laptop job.
Was there a few years ago and there was a bar just off the main seafront road that was owned by a Luton fan....he might be able to help you out.
    The Rose & Crown.

Closed now and he’s moved back to England.
  • Watched the first leg at home (I wasnt sure CharltonTV could show it and I was going to the pub when I checked.
Thursday night in the Buccaneer Pub in Pineda de Mar, and if we get through, thats the venue for the final.

    Good point.

Anyone selling any tickets for Thursdays match?

Inbox me if so and can arrange it. I'm not fussy about what stand/location. Thanks

This may be a stupid question but have you looked on the spares thread?

    👍 yes, thanks.

I didn't actually notice that thread on announcements
  • Youngest will be there with his missus and a mate using our three ST seats - I will be watching (hopefully they confirm it will be shown) on a big outdoor screen in a pub in Nantwich with my eldest who can't be there due to his missus being almost ready to present him with a daughter (and our first grand daughter!). Didn't want to go to The Valley and leave him on his own to watch it.

Not sure if there are too many Charlton supporters in Nantwich, so not likely to be rammed!

Will be watching from the couch.
Monday 5.30am kickoff (1st leg) / Friday 7.30am kickoff (2nd leg) - poor kickoff times for Auckland Addicks, but we’ll definitely watch the final together IF we make it (a Sunday 11pm kickoff)
Just been told that I have a urologist appointment at 9.30am (kidney stone recovery - and no other appointments available for the next few weeks), so will have to listen to 2nd half in the car. Really hope we’ve won after 90 mins, as I’ll otherwise miss the 2 x extra time and potential penalties.
  • At home, pretending to work.
  • Start work at 8 pm. Will pay for Now TV and hope I can get to watch it on my tablet.
  • I guess this is a good thread for it.. I'm abroad, kick off is 2am. I'll finish work at 7:30pm today, gotta be up around 6:30am tomorrow...

Can't pull a sicky, it's the end of the school year and it'd be pretty poor form. Do I slog it out and turn up shattered or is there any good way of watching a replay? I know they usually come up on Charlton TV a few days later but there's no way I'll be able to get to that without seeing the result somewhere.

Urghhhh.. I think I'll probably try and sleep for a couple hours and then just get up for it.

I’m in exactly the same boat, 3am kick off, 8am class, the plan is to get to sleep as early as possible, wake up at 2:45 for the game and glue myself to the espresso machine in the staff room tomorrow morning, been working on persuasive writing all week so the kids will have something to focus on tomorrow for the first two periods.

  • Yeah, we're just doing goodbye classes so I think coffee and worksheet games is the way to go.. hopefully the high of a win will see me through me it.
  • edited 8:28AM
Will be watching on my phone as I have been in Queen Elizabeth hospital for a couple of weeks - and won’t be well enough to get to Wembley. Because the final is nailed on!
  • Watching on big screen in our basement. Wife and I will sit in our usual seats as won’t tempt fate by changing.

Game does not start till 8pm mate, you'll have loads of time B)
  • Got to watch from a sports bar in Leeds, due to work. That, or on my phone in my hotel room. Neither are ideal...

Some good boozers in Leeds, although I doubt Leeds fans with long memories will be wanting a Charlton win so you may need to be discreet!
  • I'll be at home. ( I live in Charlton Road,  but not in the second hand car dealers!!)
  • I had a ticket for today but can't go now as back went into spasm last night and now I can't move .So I ll be in Window Sill Bay watching on Sky .COYA !!!!!
  • Still from behind the sofa, removing any residual fingernails (because even 4-5 up I'll be nervy).
  • Planning on watching from my home office. However I have a feeling the home boss will deny me the pleasure of solitude for this one.
