Can anyone recommend a road to park on if I’m getting there around 4pm ish? Something I can stick in the sat nav?
Thanks to those who have suggested parking areas but I’m struggling to find where they are and where I can leave the car at that time, get some food and get away for a 4 hour drive home after the game.
There is no problem parking at 4pm in all the streets around the Valley, as its 2hrs free parking, stick it in any parking bay as restrictions end at 6.30pm. If you park at 4pm, there won't be any wardens walking around taking note of your car reg and coming back to see if you have exceeded 2hrs.
I'm arriving at 5.30pm with my son and we will park as close as possible to the Valley to meet 2 friends for a bite to eat and are planning to get into the ground by 7pm. I think it will be chaos at the turnstiles with the sell out crowd all with printed tickets & too few stewards etc and just want to enjoy the build up.
If you follow this advice and park in a 2 hour free bay, you MAY get a ticket, despite what TRA says.
To reassure you i park every match very close to the ground at 2pm and return at 5pm never had a ticket. Thursday night, there won't be an eagle eyed traffic warden who sees you park up at 4pm and returns between 6-6.30pm, these wardens aren't stupid they want an easy life and will avoid a huge football crowd. I imagine they knock off by 4.30pm as from there its 2hrs free parking till next day, if your worried just park up and stay in your car till 4.30pm and bingo no problem.
I don't entirely disagree, but if you are parking outside of the permitted times you are liable to get a ticket.
NB All the disabled cars parked on Coxmount Road opposite Harvey Gardens got a ticket last game, so good luck if you ignore the parking restrictions.
If you are still sitting in your car until the restrictions end and move sharpish if a warden arrives, then obviously you're at a lesser risk of getting a ticket, if you see them before they see you.

So tickets no longer on sale until Thursday. Their fans think it means the stand won’t split, I think it means they haven’t sold enough and it will split. Guess we wait on the club
I think their fans are wrong. If there was no plan to split it, then they'd be able to buy right up until the game.
Probably 4pm Thursday but for a reduced allocation, notbthevfull 3,400
  • Sorry to derail the thread at all... But if we do take over some of the Jimmy Seed Stand, I wonder if that'll have an impact on any penalty shootout if we get there again. Seem to recall the Police (?) being the ones to have issue with penalties being taken at that end of the pitch against Doncaster because of the segregation.

Might be a small / sneaky tactic to try and see a repeat of those circumstances if we can get fans in there

(Fingers crossed it doesnt end in a shootout)

Yeah weren't it Mick Everitt (is he still there as safety officer?) Who advised the police that it had to be at the covered End who then told the ref.
  • I have two sets of two in the West stand both central one set upper and one set lower tier. Annoyingly I have had someone pull out so I need a row of free together if anyone is looking for four but they are in two, 2s if that makes sense.
  • Annoyingly just checked my email confirmation to print my tickets out for everyone and seen I selected post not print at home.

Of course, have not received in post 🙈
  • If we are splitting it's only giving us 24 hours or so to shift 800 to 1,000 tickets. Tough ask. I'm assuming we will split otherwise why move the deadline forward.

@valley11 You could try the Rose of Denmark. Have a slow pint after parking.
  • My son and I booked our seats separately (+ one on my account).  We requested emails, but only one arrived (for the plus 1).  The emails for the two season ticket holders never arrived - despite two further requests by email to the club.

We have now downloaded the tickets onto our phones following an almost comically stressful Friday night where my I tested my son's patience to the extreme.  (Son taking command of my laptop) Whats your club password Dad?  Dunno it comes up automatically.  Yeah, but not in this case.  Whats your Google password Dad, I'll look it up on Password manager?  Dunno.  I scrabble round for mysterious hieroglyphics marked on various scraps of paper around the house. Ah here it is son *********.  (Son)  No it's not.

Second stab at second scrap of paper was successful (Amazing) and my son got access to my account and talked me through getting the ticket onto my wallet.  I must admit the process makes me nervous, it didn't seem that user friendly to me - but it was getting very tense in the room :#I'd rather have a bit of paper that I can hold.

Anyway all sorted now, it’s on the phone - what could possibly go wrong on the night?
And frame, or stick in your scrapbook.

does anyone know what the clubs pre-match plans are and if flags will be given out etc and is the covered end Addicks flag the only one or will we bring back the flag which used to be in East Stand in Prem days, a friend sent me a video from his seat at WTH for recent match......to quote...
"Filmed this pre kickoff at Spurs for the 1st leg of the Europa League SF against Bodo Glimpt. Hope the Addicks give out flags for the game at the Valley v Wycombe, as it makes the game seem even more special and noisier !
    Up the Addicks !"

WTH - White The Hartlane ?
What The Hell have I paid money for.
  • Was this supposed to be for season ticket holders only this period?  I'm a bit concerned now that I don't have an ST and might get the ticket taken away again .....  :s
Seats not belonging to season ticket holders have been on general sale all week and this process has not ended... it's just that the supply of them is now dependent on someone cancelling/replacing such tickets and dropping them back into the general pool.

Season ticket holders' seats can also be purchased now, but only by the holders. Until Friday 11am that is - when any unsold will be added to the general sale.

The wording from the club suggests no tickets are on general sale at present but this isn't the case.

    @golfaddick
Ok, I stand to be corrected if this is the case. But that is not what has been put out by the club (as confirmed by @clive earlier) and not my experience when logging on periodically through the day......about half a dozen times today so far. All I see is a stadium map all greyed out. Not once since Tuesday have I seen a single seat available.....and probably logged on over 30 times since then.

    As I said......its probably me.

And PS. I am thankful for the offers of tickets that people on here have generously said that they will purchase for me. Perhaps part of me doesn't want to be sitting next to someone who them knows who I am. Not really wanting to be "outed" iyswim....😄.
I'd love to get you on my vlog one day mate, can do a Golfie reveal special and find something to moan about Charlton related together, shouldn't be too difficult.

Or you can always wear a hockey mask or something, that might even be better 😂
do it in a Floyd or Harvey outfit a` la Masked Singer

I think we'll get an announcement later today and they'll go on general sale from 11 tomorrow.

I suspect it's already been planned and they're just waiting for official confirmation on how many Wycombe have sold before announcing it.
According to the Wycombe web site tickets are on sale for them all the way up to 12pm Thursday for the away end. I dont think we can confirm anything regarding home fans using the JS stand until then.

It will be a last minute thing if we do get to use it.
If, for example, they’ve sold 1,200 and return 1,500, they’ve still got 300 to sell.

Exactly.  I still have a bunch of England tickets from the 80’s meticulously stapled to the corner of Wembley programmes
  • Those tickets in the south stand would only be available on Thursday.
I doubt they’ll be made available on the day

I think we’ll sell tickets (online) quite easily if they are announced tomorrow. It would clearly be odd only to make them available on the day (which would still be online). It is very difficult to sell tickets at the Bartram Gate. I tried it but the cabin/windows were screwed even then and there is no IT up there; which means they would have to be sold a long way from the relevant turnstiles on the night. People have to be given directions!

I don’t even think the turnstiles work at the Bartram Gate. Whenever I go through it’s hand scanners

    I believe that’s the case.
  • Even as a kid I found the location of the Bartram Gate a real oddity. Of course regulars know but there are lots of Charlton fans now who have never used it.

Hand scanners and friendly stewards and Blue Badge parking, did those cabins ever get used? But for the Jimmy Seed for Charlton, people can use the AC gates, no?

    Funny!! Haha. Always one comedian.
Im talking about the ability to sell them on the day.
If they’re giving their fans until 4pm tomorrow,
is it possible with the logistics.
Great if we can make them available online in time.

I've just worked out what you meant.
When you say you doubt they would be made available on the day.
You didn't mean the day of the game (as most would assume as it's unclear)
You mean the day as in the day before the day  :)
