’Groove is in the Heart’ by Deelite.
I always thought she was singing ’Roses in the hall’
Even now I’m suspicious that she sneaks a few ’Roses in the hall’ into the song.0 -

This bit from bat out of hell "On a silver-black phantom bike" I heard 'like a cilla black fan on ice" I mean what the actual fuck was I thinking
I could have sworn he says “Cilla Black fan” too!0 -

Gordon Brown, texture like sun
Lays me down, with my mind she runs
Throughout the night
No need to fight
Never a frown with Gordon Brown.3 -

I think it was journalist Gary Crowley who told a totally bemused Weller that he originally thought the Town called Malice line of:-
"Hanging out your old love letters, on the line to dry"
WAS
"Hanging out your old Lambrettas🤣0 -
I have only been into rock n roll for about forty-seven years, and if I have heard "The Girl Can't Help It" once, I have heard it 1000 times (probably more). I have always been a bit unsure of the fourth line, but have happily sung "When she walks by the flashlights turn to toast" for years. Now I know that doesn't make a great deal of sense, but you are talking about a man who sang "Bama-lama-bama-loo" and imortalised "Awopbopaloobopawopbamboom", so a flaky lyric can be expected.
I finally got round to looking up what the Georgia Peach actually sang. Apparently it's "the bread slice turn to toast"...
Suddenly it all makes sense. 😶🌫️0 -
