He looks incredibly fit so wouldn't be surprised to see him play at a high level for at least another couple of years.

He didn't need to take a break from football, he took breaks during football.

You'll be amazed how underrated Godden was, especially by the Wycombe fan.

I'd genuinely have Godden over Kone any day of the week. I'd only prefer Kone cause of his age and longevity. One half a season has gone to a few fans heads.

Think Kone is probably struggling physically at the end of his first professional season. Fascinated to see how he copes next season and where he’s playing. Agree that Godden is the one I’d have in my starting 11 though

Last 14 games, 1 goal, 2 assists. Had a bit of a hot streak, but I've not been impressed, especially against us.

I think Jones showed up him in the league game, and Ramsay made him look so ordinary last game.

I'd deffo have Kone at Charlton, but I wouldn't have him ahead of Godden or TC.

Don't want to tempt fate too much with Kone but even with Wycombes rich owners I wonder if they regret not taking the £7m from Luton..

Based on what I've seen, I would be. I've only watched him in the flesh for the two games at theirs and the 20-30 minutes or so at ours (where he did look dangerous) but I've not been impressed at all.

Has a swagger about him, and looks lively, but doesn't seem to have much technical ability, and looks like he is a bit hot tempered.

Anyway, congrats Kone on your hatrick on Thursday.

He looks to me like a classic "highlights reel" player - once or twice a game he'll do something impressive and flashy which looks good on replay and anyone watching it assumes he must be decent, not realising that what you don't see are the six or seven mistakes or bad touches.

I’ll say again, mental he wasn’t at least top 3 in the POTY poll. He certainly would be if the vote was held now. Our three best players probably the stars tonight. Ramsay for the blocks, Jones for the assist and billion headers won, and Godden for the winning goal.

Fantastic signing for us, he probably cost under 100K - replacing a bloke that we sold for 1.5 million - and scores 18 league goals in 41 games.

Ahadne didn't work out for us at all, so Godden absolutely got us out of jail.

    Aged like wine.

That Wycombe fan raised his eyebrows when I said Godden over Kone, there is no contest. Only two strikers in this league are on Matty's level, one has already been promoted, and we will be seeing the other at Wembley.

Not trying to knock Alfie May who is an excellent goal scorer, but Godden is a better, more rounded player. You can see why Godden has played over 100 games in the Championship, as his all round game is excellent. He wins more in the air than you'd expect, while his link up play is excellent.
I was referring to Sam Smith btw, should have said that.

The May Godden debate is over for me. We needed May just as much May needed us. Mays goals kept us up, and earned him a life changing contract.

Godden has replaced him and then some. We are a better team with Godden, and Godden is what I see as proper Charlton.

Well exceeded expectations and will be spoke about in a positive light for years by Charlton fans, one of the good guys in football. 👍🏻

Still adored by Cov fans as well, loads of comments wishing him well on highlights vids from last night - no surprise

Stansfield is a Championship level striker also. I think he's been a bit disappointing this season, but the ludicrous fee isn't his fault, and he will improve.

Sam Smith certainly looks an excellent player. A step up from the likes of Mullin, and much younger than the veteran Fletcher (who has been released).
