  • 135-4 and a lead of 43. We will probably have to bat for two sessions to save the game tomorrow.
  • Big innings for Leaning this, can’t see how he warrants a place in the team at the minute

Mainly because he's the only "spinner" we play. Clearly either Jaydn is injured or there is a refusal to bowl him and we don't want to play an out and out spinner that can't bat in the top seven like Parkinson.  In fact, we don't have another spinner in the squad that turns it away from the left hander available given that O'Riordan has been injured all season and Muyeye has given up bowling (or we've given up on him). As you say, it's still a big innings for Leaning if only for the fact that he has yet to hit a 50 this season.

  • And five minutes after I typed the above Leaning chips one to short mid-wicket for 34 (86)

    180-5 and a lead of 88

    Benjamin 41* (97)
  • We only have one more CC game before we break for the Blast so the chances are that we will persevere with Leaning for his "added value" of off spin and his catching at slip. 189 runs from 11 innings with a top score of 40 at an average of 17.18 does rather tell its own story.
  • 200-5 and a lead of 108 with probably about 76 overs left of the day.

Stewart plays on for 41 (36). Jaydn then bowled for 5 (20) while Benjamin has reached his 50.

241-6 (78) at lunch  and a lead of 149 with 64.1 overs to go. We need to bat for at least half of those.

    Benjamin 53* (136)

  • Ball is bounced out for 1 (7)

243-8. Lead of 151 with some 62 overs to go.

Jaydn Denly batted and scored 5. Came in at 8 after Grant Stewart (41) though.
  • We are going to lose this.

    Kashi Ali LBW 3 (11)

    247-9
  • Chris Benjamin is way too low at 6, as he's constantly having to play with the tail.
  • Benjamin last man out for 58 (149). Gilchrist 3* (10)

253 all out and a lead of 161

The alternative is for him to open and Finch to bat further down. It's not ideal Finch opening and keeping anyway and Benjamin made two or three basic keeping errors when he did do the job that cost us. He's now scored 295 runs in his 6 innings at an average of 59.
  • For someone who made his name in the short form, Benjamin plays like a solid top order player.

He faced 244 balls in the 1st innings, and 149 in the 2nd.
  • Game on?

12-2 after 3 overs, Gilchrist and now Ball with a wicket each.

    Let's hope so
  • First wicket is an outstanding catch by Leaning
  • These Gloucs commentators are completely unbearable btw. Windbags the pair

  • Ollie Price, who should definitely be in the England team according to both commentators, goes cheaply
  • 37-3 after 10 ... another for Gilchrist
  • 37-3 another wicket for Gilchrist. O Price caught and bowled.
  • Cameron Green is the new batsman for Gloucester, which, incidentally, was the name of the road I lived on when I used to live in Taverham (prior to me moving a bit further north to Briston).
  • Huge appeal third ball to Green. Looked out to me :(

    Not listening to them.

Watching the stream with that sound turned down and my Paradise Lost playlist (their first five albums) playing instead :)

No idea which umpire is standing at which end but you'd like to think that old boy Tredders would give us a helping finger ...
  • 3 down!!!
    It couldn't, could it?

(for the hard of understanding that's a joke)

Charlton make it through to the Play-Off Final at Wembley ...

West Coast finally win their first game of the season after opening with nine defeats ...

Kent winning or even getting away with a draw in this match?

Not everything happens in threes ...

    :(

  • And another one bites the dust ...

Hammond caught by Muyere at first slip off the bowling of Stewart.

    57-4 off 16.2ov

    105 req'd from min 40.4ov ...
