Boom - 60 seconds extension of drinking time before kick-off  :D

Play-off finals set to kick-off one minute later | Charlton Athletic Football Club
Mate who drinks like a fish will be happy, that's an extra pint for him.

I got too pissed last Wembley trip, so will keeping a sensible head on until FT to ensure I can remember it
Same but I'm glad I wasn't stone cold sober for that own goal

As it's a Charlton game, I imagine the true kick off will be about 1:10.

  • Marylebone for me i think (pubs in the station) and 10 minute train direct to Wembley stadium, if I make it in time. Those weren't too busy either in 2019.
    You'd be wrong then.

No need for the shitty comment as well.  Very unnecessary.
Apologies @ElfsborgAddick , have edited it out as didn't mean to cause offence. (I enjoy all your pics and appreciate them!)

    Apology accepted.

Let’s all go to the Green Man, no reservations necessary, despite the rumours some are starting to spread !!!
Oh to be sat next to a "fan" who has been in a pub since 8:30am, what greater enhancement could one imagine at a match?

It's about £7.60 a pint at the Stadium itself, if one's substance abuse issues require alcohol intake to facilitate understanding and enjoyment of a football match.
That’s only 4 and a half hours before kick off? And realistically most people will want to get to their seats earlier than a usual game so maybe 4 hours drinking time. Most away days a lot of fans start drinking earlier than 4 hours before kick off, I certainly do

Beers with friends and family for a few hours before kick off makes it a better day, it’s not just about the 90 minutes of football. Apologies for wanting to enjoy the day with other people
In many cases over the years, particularly away trips up north, that's generally the only good part of the day, as the match is usually terrible.
Exactly, I’m actually surprised anyone has been able watch us sober the last few years
  • Used The Arch a few times for England as close to where I sometimes park.  Nice pub, outside area and 5 minute walk to West End of the ground.
Recommended. They do a decent curry too although a curry breakfast may be a bad idea before the nerves of a 1pm kick off

  • Box park definitely no longer listed for Orient but not listed for us either. Assume it's still being finalised. Hope we get it!
  • It shows it separately for some reason.

There’s a few roads just before the arch that are available on your parking space. Jesmond Avenue and Waverley Avenue more often than not
  • It’s a strange one due to timing. They can’t really charge people (£10 as they did for sheff utd) AND force them in before 11am (sheff Utd is 3 hours before)

I feel the ‘tickets’ will be free before 11am entry and then first come first served after that.

Either way they will probably make their money after the game, so they need to guess who the winner is going to be

  • I’m hoping a couple of pints before the game in the fanzone, enjoy it with my kids and then after we win, drop them home straight after and out in the evening somewhere local - especially given the bank holiday.

best of both worlds and everyone’s a winner!

If they do the same as Utd, bar will close at midday, 1hr before ko.  Can’t see a lot of people forking out a tenner for an hour or two of drinking

Agreed. And I think that why there is a such delay on ‘tickets’ or announcement.  Sheff Utd went on sale a week ago (and sold out in hours).

    Hopefully not Orient.

  • Three of us driving down from Chesire.

Going to park up in Kingsbury (most roads seem to be ok to park on Sundays) for about 9am have breakfast in Wetherspoons next to the station and then get a tube to Wembley Park to soak up the atmosphere :)

    Can't wait COYR 😀

Yeah as a owner of a 6 yr old, id happily pay £10 pp to walk from the train straight to a venue that has food and drink and know i don't have to fk about.
  • The Charlton fanzone at the stadium was decent last time, very easy to get a beer
Is anyone thinking of going here this year -
what's the food / drink options like ?
Hopefully be there after (fingers crossed) getting a ticket tomorrow

    Fan Zones

We have two fan zone areas within the stadium footprint where supporters have the chance to join fellow fans to enjoy a drink, including alcohol, food and a DJ. They are an ideal place to soak up the pre-match party atmosphere

    East (East Village)

The Sheffield United/ Leyton Orient / Walsall Fan Zones will be located on the East Concourse area of the stadium.

They will be open from 10:00 each day and serving alcohol from 11:00. They will close 30 minutes prior to kick-off. (stop serving alcohol one hour one before)

    West (Arena square)

The Sunderland / Charlton / AFC Wimbledon Fan Zones will be located on the West side of the stadium (Arena Square)

They will be open from 10:00 each day and serving alcohol from 11:00. They will close 30 minutes prior to kick-off. (stop serving alcohol one hour one before)

Supporters will need to present a valid stadium ticket to enter the fan zones on both days. Capacity is limited and the stadium’s bag policy (see below) also applies.
  • So the fan zone will serve alcohol for just one hour for our game ?

I'm assuming that's for the 3pm kick offs.

Such a pain having our game moved to 1pm. Too many of the "instructions" (like above) will not be edited for our circumstances and therefore will leave fans confused.

Another cock-up by the EFL / EPL. They could have quite easily moved the Prem games to 2pm (always at least 1 on at that time on a Sunday so hardly unusual) and then our games could have been at 4 or even 5pm.

Not sure I understand the fascination with Boxpark. But I guess I'm not their target market.
What is boxpark anyway ? Is it like the covered food market they have by East Croydon station with a a load of benches in between  ?
  • Arena Square is a better fanzone than East Village, from what I can remember of the NFL games and the fanzones from them.
