Yes.... us of little faith booked our holiday when we thought there was 0% chance of a final. Anyway.... we will be in The Netherlands. Any Addicks live there with advice for how was can watch the game on TV or via the Internet while there? I have a Now TV account but not sure what VPN might work? Thank you in advance...

I've just downloaded Proton VPN to my laptop and the first month is only a quid. You can cancel any time.
Best feature is that you can choose which server location of 118 to run through, so I've just chosen UK, and fingers crossed for next week. I'll be in Germany.
I assume cafctv isn't streaming the final but not certain. If not I will use a Nowtv day pass.1 -
Actually I am pretty sure Charlton TV is streaming the final because they mentioned it in the embers of Thursday's broadcast.
However if so, the Netherlands is one of those countries where the EFL have a supposed "partner" so you'd need a VPN to watch CTV there. I've also needed the VPN for Charlton Tv for the playoffs, I set it to Germany and it worked fine. It should do so again, they have no partner in Germany.
As for the VPN itself I use Surfshark and its pretty good. I am sure it can deal with NowTV as I was looking at it a few weeks ago as a potential plan B, and while it initally told me to go away, as soon as I switched on Surfshark and set it to UK it was ready to sell me things.
But NordVPN, who are sponsoring Charlton TV now, is well established and I'm sure able to do the job too.2 -

Try to ensure your wifi signal is strong and reliable though.1 -

But also mail the club, and ask them if they can confirm with the EFL whether or not BeIN are actually showing the game, cos if not, then the EFL should not block it, and you can legitimately buy a Charlton TV match pass and connect to wifi to watch it. Which IMO would be the best way. For the away leg at Wycombe, the club were all over this.
It's a pity (but understandable) that you don't want to try and install a VPN. You'd need a decent one, which will cost you a sub., but if you do go down that route, ask for help in setting it to Germany, and you will be able to watch Charlton TV with a match pass.
The final solution will be dodgy streams. There is bound to be a thread for that on here on Sunday. But if you haven't tried it before there are two drawbacks. One, there is a danger that they can infect your laptop with malware. Many say you should only connect through a VPN to protect your machine. Two, I've used them but although the quality can be good, it often buffers, i.e. the picture freezes, and you have to refresh the page. It's bound to happen just as Matty Godden picks up a scent...but there are other people who understand this stuff better than I do who can give better tips.3 -

I am currently in Luxembourg and will be in Genoa for the final and I think Italy is ok but I have Express VPN anyway. Very gutted I didn't have faith this would happen. I was actually planning on missing the play offs (with no Charlton) on purpose!

I should’ve explained, I’m at a wedding that starts at 2pm French time. Cant be any worse
so an earpiece in during the ceremony and duck off to watch it once that’s done
I emailed Charlton TV, very helpful and they reckon it’ll be on bein sports
so does anyone know if I can watch it on there via the app or website?!0 -

May I suggest trying to get clued up on VPN's? It is quite simple and the apps are designed to be very easy.
My Dad has learnt and he is 70 and is now happy sorting it all himself.
VPN option's: IP Vanish or Nord, you can sign up for a 7 day trial easy enough and then cancel.
You can then have your phone or laptop set to the country Charlton TV is on and watch it that way.1 -
Yeh I mean watch it on Bein if you don’t mind asking pls @PragueAddick
cheers @robroy I’ll take a look at that too1 -
You could do what I've done, sign up for Bein Sports, it's easy and straightforward. I don't know about France, but in Australia they offer a 7 day free trial. So you could just cancel on Monday morning. Failing that sign up for a monthly subscription, it's only $15 a month, so still good value for watching the game, then you can simply cancel anytime. You can download their app and watch on your phone, or on your smart TV.2

You might find its something to keep
longer term ( unlike a BeIN sub). And generally, faced with this kind of horror, not being able to watch a Charlton game like this, its good to have PlanA/B/C and follow up all of them until you know 100% one will work. Thats what I had to do for Wycombe away.4 -

I’m VPN’ing it. Done a quick test run and ready to rock and roll.As a fully paid up member of the the ‘little to no faith’ club, I’ll settle for an iPad and a large jug of something strong as an alternative option.0

Sky Go/NowTV works best with a VPN on WiFi and aeroplane mode so it can't possibly figure out your actual location

I’m having to watch the game
myself in Crete as booked 11 nights with the Mrs and kids at the start of the year. Shocker!!!!
Asked ChatGPT what channel it will be on and then messaged both sorts bars and they confirmed that have cosmote that will show it.3 -
@Shag One of the French based Addicks has just posted that the game will not be shown by BeIN sport so it ought to be available on Charlton TV, but I've asked him if he is confident about his source.
They were not sure about a UK debit card with BeIN but I asked Perplexity AI and it seems sure that any debit card backed by Visa or MC will be fine. Also PayPal.
So CTV ought to work. But locate the BeIN Sport website and take a look late Friday at their schedule (they have about 8 channels). If the game shows up there, then you can subscribe for one month with them.
