Thanks for posting, Aaron and so sorry to hear of your loss.

You and your Mum provided an unforgettable part of Charlton's history - and really appreciated by all of us, thank you!

  • As I said elsewhere in this thread, I wanted to write 'not fit not proper'.
Mum, after a long sigh, said 'no. just write "liar". Easier to fit and understand'

Hey folks. Aaron Bowater here (The formerly young fella holding the other end of the banner)
I was just in the pub discussing the last few years of Charlton with a pal and talking about how sad I was mum wasn't gonna be there Sunday. Was showing my mate this thread and came across the RIP messages.
Mum passed away 14th July, euro final, last year. Julie Bowater was an amazing woman and we all miss her very much. We'll really miss her Sunday as we've missed her all season.
Thank you all for the warm messages and sorry its taken so long to say so.
    Coya
No need to apologise, you had far bigger things on your mind at the time. Sorry for your loss and thank you for helping to bring us that memorable moment.

The banner was genius, I was there, it was great when the crowed started guiding where it needed to be - right a bit, left a bit and a big cheers when in place.

Always make me smile when I see the photos.

    RIP Julie

Thank you Aaron and your lovely Mum, Julie Bowater for giving everyone who cared about Charlton Athletic one of the most iconic funny moments in our up and down history; or should that be down and up, for not only the liar banner but tomorrow's Final.

    RIP Julie
