His career is on the down-slide and he's already experienced playing for Liverpool and Newcastle.
He might want to move back to London but if he's just seeing out his career and not all that motivated, then its best he doesn't disrupt the positive energy at Sparrows Lane.
Jonjo would be a fantastic signing and I think would fit in fine with a Nathan Jones set up. His positional discipline or fitness have never been in question and he has an attitude lacking in loads of modern professionals. Same as Lee Bowyer, his stock means people look down their noses at him and probably also moaning that modern day footballers have nothing about them
I'd drive to wherever he is currently living and take him to sparrows Lane myself
Could do a lot worse than signing him to play in the hole where berry/Gilbert have been playing. Won't need to run as much and the guy can thread a pass through the eye of a needle
A burnley fan I know said this about him - “barely played for us but was the least mobile midfielder I have ever seen. He has two speeds. Walking and stopping walking”,
Arter was almost a terrier-type, combative midfielder, so when he lost any pace and mobility, his game was done (hence why he is playing in the UAE second division now), whilst Shelvey is technically a super footballer, so once his mobility goes he has a lot more to still offer a team, hence why Shelvey was a England international, massive difference in quality between the 2

Don't think it's worth the risk financially
