Mannion 8- No real saves to make but absolute Salmon in the box with claims. Small 5- Can’t lie absolutely locked down by Jack Currie today. Ramsay 8- Defensively solid calmed us down on the ball when panicking.
Jones 8- Won absolutely everything Gillesphey 10- Agyei in his pocket and went prime Roberto Carlos Edwards 7- Great defensively but struggled going forwards today Coventry 7- Typical performance kept us ticking over and broke up play well. Docherty 8- Won absolutely everything put in an absolute shift Gilbert 5- Struggled to get into the game, played too safe today for his skillset TC 5- Looked injured so would give him the BOD but was very white today Godden 6- Pressed well and challenged for evening didn’t really have any chances though
MANNION: 7 not a lot to do and how many times have we said that this season? Couple big claims toward the end.
RAMSAY: 7.5 one or two missteps but he can do that and still be very good
JONES: 8.5 lost a couple headers. Shame on him. Probably hard to play with Richard Kone and Charlie Kelman in your pockets. He's come up against the league's two top scorers and they didn't do shit.
GILLESPHEY: 10 If you score the winner at Wembley you get a 10. But beyond that, he was brilliant against Ageyi. He defended him 1 v 1 all day and got the best of him.
EDWARDS: 8.5 our most underrated player. Second half engaged Galbraith higher up the pitch and shut down a very good player.
COVENTRY: 7 - Didn't get on the ball much but did his doggies and dropped into the defensive line to cover for his fullbacks.
DOCHERTY: 7 doggies. Does he have the quality for the next level? I don't know. But damnit he works hard and is crucial on the press. Well done skip.
SMALL: 7 looked dangerous without doing much. Don't think he's fully fit but who cares. Sign a contract Titi.
GILBERT: 6.5 not his best today but I'll always remember him for his wonderful game in the semi final. Good luck back at Boro Gilbz. I promise to stop calling you Alex Gilbey.
CAMPBELL: 7 won the free kick for the goal. Didn't have the beating of Beckles today but draws two or three defenders every time.
GODDEN: 7.5 doggies. Channels. Flick ons. Headers. Led the line. What a signing. What a player. He's so, so crucial and so clever and so good technically for a poacher.
WATSON: 7.5 no one got past him.
ANDERSON: 8 changed the game. He is a one man press. I think there's more to come from him. And Jones clearly rates him.
MANNION: 8 calm RAMSAY: 8.5 standard JONES: 8.5 brilliant GILLESPHEY: 9 match winner EDWARDS: 7 sound COVENTRY: 7 solid DOCHERTY: 6.5 limited but a leader SMALL: 7 in and out GILBERT: 6 lost energy CAMPBELL: 7. Not great but didn’t hide and took knocks GODDEN: 6.5 clever WATSON: 6 adequate ANDERSON: 7 should have come on 10 minutes before ANEKE : fired up. MBICK : raw
MANNION: 8 provides the rest of the defence with confidence RAMSAY: 8 another supurb block JONES: 8 excellent as usual GILLESPHEY: 8.5 only beaten once I think but great goal EDWARDS: 7.5 steady COVENTRY: 7.5 steady DOCHERTY: 7.5 steady SMALL: 7 pity he didn't get more of the ball GILBERT: 6.5 started well, faded badly CAMPBELL: 7 gone off the boil a bit GODDEN: 7 effort all game, think he was hampered a bit later in the game as kept feeling his hamstring WATSON: 7 did what was required ANDERSON: 7.5 did his job well Referee: 7
Other subs: ANEKE would have been great if that snapshot he took went in Mbick difficult to judge as only young but did look very slow
MANNION: 8 - Did very well, and looked great on crosses RAMSAY: 8 - Magnificent game JONES: 8 - Another excellent performance GILLESPHEY: 8.5 (MoM) - Extra point for great goal, but did struggle with Agwei at times EDWARDS: 7.5 - Got forward well, but lost Agwei a couple of times exposing Macca COVENTRY: 7 - Did well but not at his best DOCHERTY: 8 - Covered every blade of Wembley grass SMALL: 6.5 - Still way short of match-practice but did OK GILBERT: 6.5 - Linked play well CAMPBELL: 6.5 - Held the ball well but little end product other than winning the free kick GODDEN: 6 - Tried hard but saw little decent ball WATSON: 6 - Went missing once ANDERSON: 7 - Brought more energy and unlucky not to set up a second goal Referee: 9 - Bar the ridiculous VAR comms delay, had a decent game
MANNION: 9 - absolutely dominated his area on crosses and repeatedly killed Orient’s attempts to build momentum RAMSAY: 8 - a class act. Struggled with fitness towards the end but toughed it out JONES: 9 - won pretty well everything GILLESPHEY: 9.5 - excellent defensively and came up with decisive moment. When was the last time one of our central defenders netted 6 goals ? EDWARDS: 7.5 - got done once early on by Galbraith but, thereafter, coped well with both him and Agyei down his side COVENTRY: 7 - a tough afternoon against a good Orient midfield but kept going DOCHERTY: 7 - found it difficult to get on the ball but his levels of fitness are such that he always seems to be at his best in the last 20 minutes. Nearly made it 2-0 in the second half SMALL: 6.5 - we rarely managed to get the ball to his feet in one v one positions GILBERT: 5 - lacks physicality and pace and visibly wilted as the game went on CAMPBELL: 6.5 - not much in the way of service but had a few good moments. A great season but it feels like its demands have caught up with him and he’s run out of gas in recent weeks having almost single-handedly won us a number of games before that GODDEN: 6.5 - worked hard but was largely feeding off scraps WATSON: 6 - brought fresh legs when they were needed ANDERSON: 8.5 - made an impact instantly with his energy, closing down and desire to win the ball back. Showed great composure to tee up Doc for our best second half chance Referee: 7 - pretty good. Let Lloyd get away with one after a couple of minutes. Sensible not to start brandishing cards instantly, given the weight of the occasion
Other subs: Aneke: a decent cameo on what will almost certainly be his last appearance Mbick: a big ask for the lad
