When we scored first and didnt win? - Blackpool awayMuttleyCAFC said:Which game was the draw? Trying to remember.
Which is ironic because it was Gillesphey who "messed up" and stopped it from being 24-wins in 24-games.
Even further ironic given the fact that both Jones and Gillesphey have made blunders that have led to conceding goals at Blackpool in the last two seasons now, and both have reacted by not putting a foot wrong since.4 -
We're not counting Barnsley away then lolrandy andy said:
Including the game yesterday we have gone ahead in 30 games this season. If those we've now won 29, drawn 1, lost 0. Unbelievable recordMuttleyCAFC said:When we scored you sort of knew we would play to our strengths and defend it. Our record shows that we can over and over again. Not great for the heart but absolutely no team at this level have gone behind to us and won. It wasn't about being a great game, it was about winning. A word for Orient. I'm sure we all wish them the best for next season. What a great job Wellens has done there.0 -
Great day. We just did enough. Bumping into all the players and officials on Wembley way after was bizarre / incredible.
A bit like those stories of players getting the train to games alongside fans in the 1950s etc.
Glad we have at last got promotion with a manager who didn’t play for us. First for nearly 40 years.

we sat in block 238 in 2019 and chose to go for the exact same spot again this time round -
i was clearing some stuff at my parents house on Saturday and came across by chance my dad’s ticket from our trip in 98… to the old Wembley, a completely different ground, 25 years ago…
and now I can never sit anywhere else at Wembley stadium again

Fabulous day with the 2 lads memories to last a lifetime and massive kudos to Nathan Jones and the team
There were nervous moments yesterday and time stood still in that 11 mins but on reflection it was never in doubt, this team is the king of 1-0 grind outs
Looking forward to being back in what I see as our natural place in the pyramid, 2nd tier football and having some big games again.
Yes I know we have to lose to Millwall away again but we do have Fratton Park back in the diary 👍9 -
Did Seb get a sing song yesterday? Was hard to hear on the tv as it was just constant noise3

Thanks for posting. Watching that was the first time it’s really sunk in, and the emotions have come to the surface. So proud of the club, and so happy to have been there with my boys, like in 2019. ❤️ (PS Lucas’s eyes were half closed in the top pic because he’d just had operations on both corneas because he has kerataconus).Valley11 said:Absolutely love this. I was really disappointed with the Orient support. Yes they reacted and chanted a bit when they had a chance or a corner, but there was no "general" singing, chanting about players, about who they hated, about how they make all the noise etc. Their players must have noticed the difference. And while we don't have 40,000 "hardcore" fans, "visually" it looked like it, whereas it was noticeable at the Orient end that while the lower tier was really getting into it, the top tier looked like tourists, there for a day out at Wembley.
Stockport would have given us a much harder game, and would have created more of an atmosphere too.7 -
Getting more and more pissed off watching news reports of Palarse, Liverpool and Chelski Women parading their trophies around, and no mention apart from a quick "Oh and by the way" comment about us.
Life does fu*kin' exist outside the bloody Premier sodding League...🤦♂️😫12 -
Great day...Winning promotion at Wembley - it's what Charlton does. Marvelous to see nearly all our home grown promotion managers present. Now fingers crossed for JJ today.3

I've seen a few Orient fans on twitter saying that it was clear that they had a load of day trippers in while it looked like we had an end of proper supporters.12 -
I think we guessed beforehand that there would be a load of East End day trippers going there for the day out. This was reinforced at Farringdon station when a cry of ‘Red Army’ went up followed by a number of older men starting up ‘I’m forever blowing bubbles’ they tried to get a reaction from the Charlton but it didn’t work. Also, at the final whistle, half of the Orient support couldn’t wait to get out. I applaud the Orient fans who hung around to give their heroes a round of applausekillerandflash said:I was really disappointed with the Orient support. Not so good at freekicks and corners though.Oggy Red said:
My only doubt was if the match ended with penalties.covered_end_junior said:What a bloody day that was! I had a good feeling as soon as we got the free kick that it was going in but wasn’t particular confident before the game started I must admit.Just catching up on all of the interviews and videos now to re live it all over again 😁
The Orient keeper has a very decent record saving penalties.6 -

There was such a gap around the wall on the rhs that I was sure that Gilbert was going to take it.Leuth said:
There was a moment someone (I think Docherty) ran up to whisper something into Gilbert's ear. At that moment I knew Gillesphey would take it (and said so)fenaddick said:Just rewatched the goal properly for the first time. Their keeper clearly expects Gilbert to take it and sets up the wall accordingly. Really smart from all involved for Gillesphey to take instead
So glad he didn't!

Having read through 15 pages of this post, I'm afraid yours is the most disappointing, why does someone have to nitpick about Nathan Jones. If you want dignity look for Prime Ministers, top Politicians and Archbishops, not football managers. Don't suppose for 1 minute that you thought the players may have suggested it. You seem a real killjoy!R0TW said:Appreciate the manager turned things around, but have some dignity.
Centre of attention against Wycombe, and walks down stairs from Wembley with cup.
Take a back seat any let your players/captain enjoy the moment.
Far more dignified in my opinion16 -
Some good Vlogs on Youtube - all taken from the Orient End by nuetrals. Loads of half empty blocks with bewildered looking fans, no colours. A number said that they attend all the play offs over the years and get tickets in whatever end they can. "Charlton have probably the best vocal support of any we've been to "....Croydon said:killerandflash said:I was really disappointed with the Orient support. Behave ET🫵🏼
Brilliant for the Charlton fan base which has suddenly increased four fold since March but Winning the League 1 playoff doesn't compare to being Premier Champions in the Men's and Women's or as much as it pisses off many fans winning the FA cup for the first time. TBF the BBC national news showed Macca's goal in the sports round up.
One guy behind me was giving a running commentary and slagging off TC and our tactics but even when he was on our side of the pitch, he kept calling Tyreece by his number ! He genuinely didn't know his name.
We have many plastic fans and just like the Premier days they will increase exponentially as we climb up the Pyramid to be London's number one team* in 2030.
*Friedman copies Bill Gates Philanthropic ways and gives multi billions to CAFC as he is overcome with love for Charlton Athletic ♥️

I just bought the in-flight wifi to keep reading everyone’s post match reaction. Can’t get enough.
Still buzzing. I’m in a crap seat near the back of the plane but this is the best flight I’ve ever been on.
We’re on our wayyyyyy…37 -
The Band in Box Park really kicked the day off superbly ..
